I would use pigman and wither skeletons when you get them. you can use the skeletons but I don't recommend upgrading them I would sell the bones for money.

But zombies level 30 should get you enough xp, withers are like 10x the xp at the same lvl

You will get several from the nether islands. You get like 7 free wither skeleton spawners and like i think 11 pigman

Those alone work with your free creepers, I use the free ones in the xp farm and place trapped doors to prevent them from seeing me and exploding. The loot comes in handy.

Also i recommended a 2 x 2 hole or at least a 2 by 1 , 1 block hole will slow down the farm.

And cause them to glitch outside when joining, you will need to enclose the drop area sooner with a 1 block hole. Requires a 3 solid block layer. With 16 spawners with a 1x2 hole.

Nothing worse then to die and lose 20% of the lvls

100k nether wart will not take very long have a very large soul sand area and they drop a lot more with fortune 20.

I don't know what's more boring gaining the XP for fortune 20 or Glowstone, The benefits of Grinding a fortune twenty pickaxe are great. 3x the amount of crops, Glowstone dust, and ores

The downside is it costs up to about 64 To repair it if it's fully damaged.
