Best xp method for early game is fishing,
Enchant your fishing pile in only lure, get it high as you can (5) so the fish come quicker, you get 1 level per fish tell like 25 then it's 2 fish per level super ez to enchant and dirt cheap to repair

I've just completed that quest this past week. I saved it for last because I find them a pain to farm. I did both one tree spaced apart and also rows of trees right next to each other sometimes 2-5 thick. Although I am not sure which is better I kind of liked them spaced apart it made it easier to find all the logs. Where as when you clump them together you have to go searching more for loose logs. You might try various ways of planting them to see what you like best

@vast fulcrum there will be a quest yes, but dosnt matter you can always refarm levels, def nice to have a pickaxe with future so you get more from your iron and metal amd other generators

pigs survived 80 blocks...

i stacked to 90 blocks already, is it enough

Do it any hight and just put sand and cacti around them and they will die off
