It’s not about disagreeing, it’s about looking what’s best for the game, and if you want every eggwars game to be infinite because people can’t die on 10 hearts with elytra’s then sure, it just seems like you lot don’t really play Java and so the reason why these decisions are made, instead of making such unnecessary changes I’d prefer if there was a bigger focus on things as queues and sentinel since that is where the real problem lies

As mentioned above, I believe that half health is damaging EggWars more than it is helping. It's not good for new players, which in the long term, kills the player count for EggWars, which then leads to long queues. I want to see what happens if we removed it. Because I truly believe this will better EggWars as a whole, and what's best for the game. And hey, the shop is going back to what it was, so there are positives with the update. Just sadly can't tick every box when it comes to EggWars.

As a network, we shouldn't be afraid to make changes to our games, otherwise you're just stuck in the past. We're on 1.21, and we're basically putting EggWars back to 1.8 lol that's 13 versions bruh. As much as I love the community, it does hurt that so many people refuse newer content in EggWars, but if it's what they want, they can get it. But then you have people complain we don't update EggWars lol, like what is it? We update the game then get backlash, and even if we don't update it, we get backlash. That's the balance as a Minecraft server, you're always going to have people complain and love content, you cannot cater to all our players. But we can try to tick as many boxes as we can. So for the OG update, we're ticking the boxes for older players, by having the classic shop, and for the newer players, it's removing half health, to give them a better experience. We can't be selfish now with content, EggWars is a mix of everyone, people that love some times and hate others, so some will love the OG shop but hate the half health change, but I'm sure people will get used to it. Also the OG shop will have stuff to help speed up the games, because half health was never used in the past to speed up EggWars. Normal/Double health with OP was the popular choice, half not in sight lol

no way this change makes any sense to create a better gameplay and i'll explain you why
Every game would be too long, even hours because it's impossible to kill each other with netherite armor, notch apple, and it's easy to run away with ender pearl or elytra.
Also the lag bias would make PvP tedious and boring.
And half healt is a thing that existed in cubecraft since 2016 so removing it is not the best thing to do.
If you want to increase the player base i suggest to fix the problems not removing something that players loved for over 8 years.

Imo its worth noting that if the shop will be like it used to be back in the day, diamond armor, leap feathers and other items will most likely cost way more than they do now. The chats in my clan are wild atm.
Making the tryhards and winfarmers your enemy is prob not what eggwars needs right now, after already being dealt a blow by bedwars.
I am not really playing atm but when I do I want to be able to win at some point, when facing another tryhard (party) who knows when to gap, when to run and when to switch armour it becomes very hard to kill them with normal hp, because it gives them so much time.

New/Bad players will not have a better time fighting tryhards in normal HP, they will just die a few crits slower then normal.
If you really want to help the new players, make golden apples more expensive, like maybe double the price atleast! (keep discounts in mind)
and crack down harder on autoclicking, because too many tryhards assume they can do it without getting banned.

Hopefully both the tryhards and the noobs can have a say in this upcoming update, don't make the same mistakes again with eggwars, Cam.

I have been both a tryharder and a winfarmer (not anymore) and from my expierence I must say that season 2 item shop was probably the most balanced. It wasnt perfect, but gaps were more expensive, blocks were more expensive, tnt was balanced and overall everything costed as it should (until elytras became too op). Normal health was picked most and if half health is removed I would like to see everything as balanced as it was in season 2. Only not sure about what the level of armour protection should be, but probably 3 will be best with leather and chain armour coming back. Elytra should be removed and leaps need to be 2 or 3x the current price. Buffing fireballs again can help new players too because they were no skill tbh

I'm not gonna say it is a bad idea, especially considering the player count; it will probably even help. However, I do disagree with some of the reasoning. Yes a lot of 'tryhards' vote half health to speed up games to get on the leaderboard but removing it won't stop people from being able to 'winfarm' this easily. In normal health it is just as easy to knock a 'new' player off the island with your hand. I'm not a fan of people winfarming either but removing half health won't solve that problem. 'Good' players will just leave from other 'good' players anyways if they want to winfarm to get easy games on normal health. Bigger maps might actually help making it more difficult to winfarm. But half health is the only way a full game of tryhards can be playable at all. With full health it'll never end. Adding OG shops won't make up for removing half health if og players don't even play at all. I understand that new players are more important but if you're making an "og update" then it doesn't help to first drive away the old playerbase

ive been thinking about the eggwars situation and here are my thoughts:

The removal of half health does make it easier for newer players, but I think the main issue is that its really difficult to kill someone in OP, and that's why half health is voted so often.
Players can buy golden apples for 1 gold by breaking just one egg (discount). the 1.9 saturation regeneration makes eating (a gapple) even more useful. With half health you have to be quick to react to eat a gapple, but with normal you have plenty of time before dying.
my idea is to nerf the price of gapples or reduce 1.9 food regeneration. With those nerfs, normal health is playable and you could remove half health. (in normal items you can already remove half health as normal health is playable)

this will not stop the wingrinders and i dont think there is a way to stop them, so newer players will have to pick a solo game to play i guess

Elytra removed, leap is nerfed and has a cooldown, iron armor set will probably cost 20 diamonds and diamond armor set will probably cost 128 diamonds and enderpearl is 64 diamonds (if the prices are the same as before). Does this not sound like its hard to run and make games long? xD
