You could just use it, https://modrinth.com/mod/server-pack-unlocker, it's a bit smarter with it as well it seems. As it copies it over, so you can make the changes you want and still use the other stuff

Yeah, so it'll copy the resource pack over to your normal pack folder. And then you can just use that one (and edit it), and it won't break.

But you'll have to re-edit it each time we make an update, or some stuff may break
