Hi, I don't see a parkour channel so I'll just put this here. Regarding the new java parkour changes: I'm sure the team is aware of the technical issues (servers occasionally crashing, getting kicked out to the lobby when picking a different level from the menu, the 'next level' button skipping two levels instead of one), but what's up with the new "parkour is starting in x seconds" thing that was just added? Now whenever the player joins a level (and can even move around) they still have to wait an extra ~2-3 seconds before being able to actually start it, which can become rather annoying. It may not seem like that long, but considering how short most of the parkour levels are, even having to wait just a few seconds every time can add up quickly. And this happens not only when selecting a new level but also when hitting the 'replay' button, which anyone who wants to improve their time on a particular level is going to be doing a lot. I guess I'm just trying to figure out, what's the reasoning behind this addition?

To kill a player with the back to the lobby its not that hard, when in the ffa kit selection part just put the "back to lobby" sign in offhand and back in mainhand, upon spawning that item will appear in ur hotbar. if u are 0.5hp and u get hit with that item (which PooLaT did) it says u got killed by that item. PooLaT also isn't hacking he's a good player + 120 streak isn't that much

Do you understand how cubecraft runs? Devs dont ban people, moderators dont develop the server, and moderators are volunteers from the community, with admins being busy with the tasks they have as a paid worker they have little time to work inside the server. If you want to help ban people maybe try becoming a mod (there is a much smaller portion of java mods then bedrock, or those who can play both)

Hey yeah. I don’t get an option to to select any of the maps. It just has the selection option with glass panes cycling and saying “Loading” I am able to choose the parkour option that puts me into the next map I don’t have gold in. However once I’m in the map, once I complete it, gives no update about medal completion. Also the next time I try to join, it puts me in the same map.

Will lagging get bannable/kickable at some point bc trying to kill some1 with 200+ ms is impossible. They teleport, dont get kb and always crit you. It is just unfair!

If you're somewhere were KB is more needed than dmg, try hitting quickly with a non weapon. So you don't have a hit cooldown, as long as they don't hit back, their kb will build up pretty well.
As for actual fights, just crit spam. Less kb makes it easier to crit spam on them

tried critting people who lag many times, but it is not possible if the player actually knows whats happening, they can hit me and I will fly away 5 blocks(stopping combo) and they also always crit. It is not easy to crit people who lag bc the server is not accepting my hit at the moment I do it. The player takes the dmg/hit after 0,5/1 secs and doesnt take that much dmg.

Not sure, but we're really wanting to push updates more once we wrap up 1.19 on Bedrock. We've not been able to deliver as much on a constant stream of updates since our focus has been on 1.19, but once we're finished with this migration we'll have a far greater capacity to release updates and the underlying tech will allow us to deliver much more than we have in the past, even before we started the 1.19 update 😄

If axes get nerfed in all modes, then an upgrade of the berseker kit in ffa will be needed. Right not the kit is balanced and u can defeat pro players by using good tactics with it. If the axe damage gets nurfed the kit will again be bad as before.

As mentioned in the thread above, this update was a lot more than just the “1.19 update” and involved things like moving to a standardized codebase, essentially meaning that all the work we do for Java will immediately apply over to Bedrock

Also means that when we deploy the 1.19 update on bedrock that it’ll be far more polished since a lot of bugs we would’ve seen on release are already fixed 😄

I don’t think there’s any specific process where suggestions above a certain threshold are automatically considered. I think under the old system it was like 25+ or something but I do know that multiple staff members actively read through the suggestions

Again, do keep in mind that the main priority within the team rn is getting the 1.19 update out so don’t expect a lot of things from suggestions to be done in the short term. I’m sure you’ll see a lot more from there once the update is done 😄

Main benefit is that we can release updates far quicker than in the past and do more with our games much easier. We use a lot of new game mechanics throughout, such as new mobs, items, blocks, etc. in lucky blocks, the warden in skywars, ancient debris in eggwars, netherite, and I think we have a map that swimming is a big part of. I’m sure as time goes on we’ll utilize these mechanics far more, since we’ve only just recently had all these features at our disposal

We’ve also brought back some older maps to our games that were previously removed

Overall with what they're doing, imo they're taking a step into the right direction, and overall they have been listening to us quite a lot, as seen in the bedrock beta tests (they're using a almost copy and pasted java server on that so i can talk about it) and from what i have seen the only complaints has been bugs ofc. The only thing they need to balance now is netherrite armour and how it works against current tools you are given in egg/sky wars, which ofc that'll take time. Other then that (and the bugs) its pretty polished considering its a beta

I have to disagree with that
you are claiming that they have taken a step into the right direction and is listening to the community.
first off, the player counts of last year were around 1500 players. today, the player counts are only between 800-900 today

this has resulted in a playercount of 40% to almost 50%
you are also claiming that they are listening to us (which is the community) which is not true either. First off, the admin team did not ask the community what they wanted for the new update. Secondly, they removed game modes which still had players, such has tower defense and miner ware, which contributed to the playercount loss. They asked about what people wanted for the egg wars update AFTER they released 1.19 but they should have done it BEFORE the update even began to be worked on.

most of the new content they added was new maps, which could have been done on 1.12. only difference would be different blocks. 1.19 is far from a step in the right direction. it hasn’t done anything but evolved backwards.
balancing items is not going to fix the 1.19 update because they did not do the update right in the first place. If they had simply listened to the community before and while working on the update, it might have actually saved the java server and it won’t have the player counts that it would have now as mentioned above.

lastly, your excuse of beta for the bugs that do exist is not a valid argument. story originally said it would take 4 months for the update to come out, which actually took 3 months extra, and they labeled the update as beta and soft launch for the amount of game breaking bugs and bad game changes

had the 1.19 update been done correctly the first time, it would have been a success. but since they failed to deliver that. Ima just split this in parts:

1. the player count isnt that reliable due to covid still being around in some places, not saying that java has not been dying, its just how some things are meant to be but the cause of that wasnt this update. Look at the numbers just before the release of the update.

2. you realise how stupid of an argument that is for them not letting us plan out their entire update? I understand them taking in suggestions (they do so through the fourms for everything) but there would be no way ziax would allow a version update to plan out, to them it is a map release update to the whole server using the new blocks and mechanics, and they have the free will to change how a mode works to what they think will work. If they think people will like it, they'll do it. Of course it backfires sometimes, but (for example) we would not have gotten M&M if not for this, no one would have ever suggested that and yet it is likely one of the most popular limited time modes that people do want back (which they still may do). And those game modes were removed before the 1.19 update (at least TD was) so unrelated to 1.19, but just java. And for the final bit in that, thats how every game dev team works, they make a product that is in their vision then mould it around criticisms to help it. It is incredibly rare for you to hear about any team to mould their entire update over what a community wants (unless its called a community update, which this isn't, its a version update there shouldn't have been anything, like when 1.12.2 released).

3. its almost like thats the entire purpose of a version update, that they use the new stuff they have access to in new content.

4. do you have any slight idea how game development works? There are many set backs all the time, which you would know about if you paid attention to the video they released on this at christmas, almost everything was going as wrong as possible so of course it'll be longer. Would you rather a

quick release and a very buggy one (lag wise, gameplay wise, or anything else) or a much more polished release, which the whole release on java was intended to help the full release on bedrock due to them changing how their network is formatted. And either way, they labeled it as a beta before a majority of those game breaking bugs were found, and the "bad changes" were thought of as bad, because they have a different vision in what they make their update.

1: Your covid argument for the current player count makes no sense at all. perhaps, if you looked at the playercounts for 2020, you would know that java peaked over 10k players. as for the playercounts right before the 1.19 update were at around 1k, which is still more than the 800-900 players cubecraft gets today, and if you look at the playercounts in april of 2022, it is almost double the amount cubecraft gets today, and the fact that cubecraft doesn’t even touch 1k over the summer is very alarming. story even said himself that java can’t sustain 1k players, as it was intended for way more players. that proves even further that the 1.19 update was a failure, since it doesn’t touch 1k players anymore (look at https://minecraft-mp.com/server/24755/stats/ to see the gradual decline of java over the years).

2: It’s not a stupid argument. while it is true that 1.19 has many new blocks and mechanics, cubecraft did not make good use of them. this is evident because almost all of their current gamemodes can be found on other servers, which most don’t require for you to be 1.19 to play them. for the ziax argument, that doesn’t make sense either. The admins/owners of this server still have all the power to make any kind of changes to the server they like. They are the ones responsible for coordinating 1.19 update, which they did poorly. Not taking community feedback prior to starting work on the update is one of the big reasons why this update flopped. I don't understand what you mean by the removal of minerware and td being "just java". The last part you said about how game development works is true, however, the issue with this argument was that this update was the difference between java succeeding and losing even more players (maybe even shutting down). Most games are thousands of times bigger than cubecraft, so it's less risky for them to make bad updates for their games and for it to fix it later (I'm looking at you Triple A game devs). Another problem is that cubecraft staff has repeatedly made bad decisions that the community did not ask for, such as the removal of assasinations, translations teams removal, and as I already mentioned, the removal of minerware and td. Each of those decisions have made the reputation of cubecraft more and more negatively. Since they also made bad decisions on what they wanted to do with the 1.19 update, it caused many players to leave, and even if they do listen to them right now, and make the 1.19 update actually good, it's already far too late, because of their reputation for implementing bad updates with little and/or bad reasoning behind those decisions.

3: Of course implementing new content from 1.19 isn't a bad thing at all, but it's how you implement it. 4: I do have a little experience in developing games. I'm definitely no genius that can help make the next GTA for rockstar games, but I do acknowledge that it can be challenging at times. However, if they weren't 100% sure that the update would be ready in 4 months, then they should have not even have mentioned an ETA for this update in the first place. Of course there's going to be problems when you work on an update as big as this, but you can't just say that it will be complete in around 4 months, and then not release it. Maybe they should have mentioned a little disclaimer under the ETA (saying it could be delayed for a few extra months) story originally estimated and maybe players wouldn't be as angry about the lack of transparency with this update. both of the options you gave in the would you rather are both bad. I would rather have the management listen to the community before the update even started, give and ETA with a disclamer under it rather than waiting 4 months for nothing,

then waiting an extra 3 months for an update that was not even finished and trash, and still waiting for the "full release" to come out almost after a year after of storysays original post. Your very last argument is wrong, because they labeled it as a beta as soon as they released this disaster of an update. Nobody knew it was going to be in beta until it actually came out, due to lack of transparency and community interaction with this update as I already previously stated.
