I'd say otherwise because axes take forever to recharge, and you can just crit spam with swords because of the perfectly timed attack delay, and don't say 1.8 is 'spamming' because you got destroyed by someone on Hypixel, and 1.8 combat is faster paced and makes you have to think faster because of faster cooldowns, At least Sprint resetting matters in 1.8 because the decreased cooldown means you don't have to wait 2x as long to land a hit that you can miss full damage because of some lag and you have to wait slightly longer in 1.9 even if the cooldown is 1 second because you fear attacking too soon for less damage, in 1.9 you overthink a combat system that is actually simple by increasing cooldowns that you can easily reset by accidently clicking too early, 1.8 is a lot more fair compared to 1.9, the end.

tbh that's my opinion though, 1.9 is too complex/unfair/slow for me

also in bedrock, the introduction of 1.9 will heavily reduce the ability of mobile players since it's very easy to mistime your attack if your fingers are all over the screen, hence why 1.9 is most likely not on bedrock
