The babies take too long to fill their hunger/thirst, which makes them unable to properly keep up with the group/parents. This is quite annoying since it causes them to fall far behind their group, so it would be good to consider a buff to food/water gain, for example:
Small note: It stopped following the group to drink and spent so much time drinking that its entire group left.

Just another example of the current state of baby food gain when eating:
The group is on the other side of the enclosure, meanwhile the babies are stuck in an almost endless cycle of drinking water and eating instead of following the group. The problem is caused because they recover their hunger and thirst way too slowly.
This applies to all the current animals in the game.
