Yeah, they discussed this in the January 2025 devlog. Adding social animations like in JWE2 is a lot of work, a lot more work in PK with the different growth and size variations, and is ultimately a pretty shallow way to implement socialization and social behaviour. We are getting other ways animals will socialize, either through vocalizations, threat displays, play chasing, etc. which are both easier to implement and also are a lot more dynamic and flexible

Idk it'd be cool if they had them at different points in growth like them only playing animations at 25% for example
