#Icon disappears with Combat Log trigger

Hello,

I am trying to create an icon aura for Comet Storm (Frost Mage). My criteria are:
Comet Storm is not on cooldown.
Previous spell cast was Flurry.

For my first trigger, I use the ‘Spell’ type and specify Comet Storm is not on cooldown.

So far, so good.

I then add a ‘Combat Log’ trigger type, subevent ‘Spell’, and Subevent Suffix ‘Cast Success’.

I then select ‘Source Unit = Player’.

At this point, the icon disappears.

If I start casting (either in combat or using a training dummy) the icon shows up and does what I want.

My assumption is that in order for the ‘Combat Log’; type to work, I need to be in combat and generating events in the log.

Is there a way to have the icon always show? I’ll use the conditions tab to make the icon glow/desaturate/etc… based on conditions. But I’d like the icon to always show.

Is that possible with the ‘Combat Log’ trigger type?

Thank you for your time.

no that's wrong

#

export what you have please, that's always the most useful

#

besides that, your description of how you set up your combat log trigger is lacking:

I then add a ‘Combat Log’ trigger type, subevent ‘Spell’, and Subevent Suffix ‘Cast Success’.
I then select ‘Source Unit = Player’.
you forgot to mention that you input a spell name or ID. if you really did it like you described here, then it'd be active for any spell cast success from you

#

At this point, the icon disappears.
the aura showing or not showing is dictated by the "required for activation" setting at the top of the trigger tab.
if it's set to require "all" triggers for activation, then you have to keep in mind that combat log triggers obviously need to have a duration manually set. by default (nothing entered in the timed box) they're only active for 1 second.

see above. it comes down to the "required for activation" setting

#

you could simply change the comet storm trigger from "show on: not on cooldown" to "show on: always".
and then handle visual changes depending on being on cd or not via conditions

I updated the conditions as you suggested and that helps. But my conditions to glow the icon aren't working.

Thank you for helping me troubleshoot this.

#

your trigger is already restricted to source unit = player and spell id = 44614

#

so having 2 conditions that check for these things being true or not just doesn't work. it's always gonna be player and it's always gonna be 44614 when you limit it in the trigger like that

#

just check for the combat log trigger being active or not like this
