hey, i'm very bad with weakauras but i was hoping to make some icons to track some buffs i have on myself such as freedom and sacrifice. in the premade auras which option should i be selecting?

Where do you want to track them? Your title says Nameplate... Do you want to track your own buffs on the nameplates of enemies or what is it you're trying to achieve?

oh sorry, i must of clicked nameplate by accident. i just want a icons on my screen so i can move them anywhere. i just want it to show the duration of freedom for example so i know its on me easier

Try New Aura > Premade Auras > Icon > Choose A size(You can change that later don't worry) > Select your class at the Top > Buffs > Blessing of Freedom (or any other buff) > Choose if the icon only shows when the buff is active/Always and highlighted when buffed/Allways but grey when the buff is not active.
That should leave you with an Icon that tracks buffs on yourself
I just saw you tagged it with WOTLK, this does Work in Retail. I don't have a classic Client installed so can't check there

Bottom one allways shows the icon in black and white and then colors it when the buff is active on you.
When the load conditions say load only when class is Plaadin and you are playing a different class the Aura is not active. And the Program does not check if it should be shown at all.
So yes that is likely the case.

This means that, there are no conditions that apply before the aura is active at all. This looks good. And when you have the icon showing up on screen at all times that means the Aura is Loaded.
Now Please show the trigger as well. Inside the Trigger Tab are the conditions defined that check 'live' during gameplay if an Aura is considered active or not.

Okay you probably want to select "Player" where it says 'Unit' to only check buffs that apply to YOUR character.
and you want to remove the 'Own Only' Tick because that would Check if your character is the source of the Buff.

Yes.
Just remember: The Aura has to be loaded. Only then will the trigger conditions be evaluated during Gameplay.
The trigger conditions 'decide' if an Aura is considered Active or not. Only an Aura that is considered Active will show on your screen.
With the Premade Auras you get a predefined Trigger and Conditions. These Conditions control if the icon is colored/glowing etc.

Right now this Trigger is tracking the Cooldown of the Spell Bladestorm. There is a dropdown "Show" > Allways
Meaning that the trigger considers itself Active when the Spell is ON Cooldown and when its OFF Cooldown
You can do "Show" > Not On Cooldown . Then the Icon should only be visible when the Spell is usable.

Then you probably don't want to track a cooldown but an Aura.
I assume you recieve a 'Buff' while Bladestorming?

Premade Aura > Icon > Buff > Show Only if Buffed > Bladestorm
should do the trick
'Cooldown' for WeakAura really tracks the Cooldown of a Spell so for instance the 90Seconds Bladestorm Cooldown.
So with Cooldown Premade Auras you can Track 'Are my Cooldowns Ready? Can I use them?
With Buff/Debuff Premade Auras you can Track 'What kind of affects are currently Active?'

Then there is a difference between WOTLK and Retail Versions here and I can't guide you.
Try Duplicating the Freedom Aura( Right Click > Duplicate) And in the Trigger Settings change Hand of Freedom to Bladestorm( Use the spell ID if you can)
