need help for a fishing rod bait remaining timer

hi there. its me again. is there a way to track the remaing time on a https://www.wowhead.com/item=6533/aquadynamic-fish-attractor on retail? (you can put the rod in your bags, apply a fish attractor and put the rod bag into the fishingjornal ) but sadly the fish attractor does not apply a buff that is shown anywehre and the aquadynamic fish attractor has no item cooldown

there's no good api for that, you need to parse the tooltip and that's non-trivial

C_TooltipInfo.GetInventoryItem("player", 28) gives you the information

also frankly you should report it as a bug to blizzard, that the default ui does not show fishing enchants anymore

if they ever fix that, tracking it should become easier

i allready have done that. also that my fishinghat form nat don't apply a bait anymore to a rod. but don't know if they fix this

You can make a Trigger with the Type: Other Events and then Spell Cast Succeeded. Set Caster unit to Player, set the Spell ID to 8089 and then set Timed to 600 seconds. Not perfect but it's something! 🙂

adding to this: if you have the weather-beaten fishing cap its even easier! the cooldown is the same as the duration so all you need to do is track the cooldown. dont know how that hat made the transition to DF but nats hat didnt, but if you happen to have it its the easiest one to track that atm, at least that ive found. and only 1 point fishing less than nats drinking hat.
