Most of the 2000s games had extra characters added as bonuses or multiplayer exclusive chars, and 06 was planned to have an extensive multiplayer mode

But it never made the cut

Adventure, SA2, Riders, even ShTH if we look at the planned playable Sonic in the multiplayer
