I genuinely hate the Knuckles show more & more in retrospect

for mainly what it represents

The more time goes on the less entertaining I see it as, with episode 4 in particular feeling kinda lackluster when you've already seen it more than twice, which is a shame. Ultimately it just solidified how irrelevant the series is to my personal tastes. Worthwhile to see how it goes, but no actual investment beyond that

I can argue for devils advocacy that Knuckles got development to be more grounded, and they used his presence in the show to inspire the main character just like Sonic is used in plenty of his stories, (which is ironic in how little that works for people here including myself) and all the plot details working properly to perform their traditional function etc etc, but I can't actually bring myself to care about it

especially for how much it spits on the face of the people who actually care about Sonic lore

I don't feel the same way about it; I can see how others do, but I feel that's more just the format. They could make something later that actually takes advantage of elements like what it showed. The movies are already higher scale enough that we have seen a few fantastical elements played straight, it's not like they won't do it again. because the idea of a semi-obscure villain like Iblis being in the movieverse is so damn cool cause there's so much you can do with that & they could've even went full on with it & show the battle between him & Knuckles

or even show if or how Iblis is connected to the Echidna's or the Master Emerald in this universe, it would be very different from the game counterpart ofc but would still be interesting to explore, but no instead they just threw all that potential away to make a FB Marketplace joke

It's shit like this, the actual show itself & the way it was marketed prior to release to me just shows the complete lack of regard, care or respect the writers & paramount themselves have for the actual franchise & it's source material with how willing they are to put out this shit.

And I know comedy is a very subjective thing, but I feel like this type of comedy was already outdated back in 2000s, when most of comedy shows were this

Very good ranking. It's mostly my overall feelings so far (except for Prime, but probably because I knew what would happen beforehand based on the route ARC-V happened so I guess the blow hit less hard for me lol, still like a 6-7/10, somewhere in the road for me)

X in particular is a 6/10 if I am cool headed but some things make my blood boil and enjoy it way less

I guess it's fine, just it's format was basically s1's but without the slice of life escapades the characters had before the conflict so the usual formula was even more played out and by the numbers

Sonic & co arrive to a place
there is some metarex causing thing
they have to deal with the gimmick of said metarex
they solve the problem

Rince and repeat for most of the season, with very few episodes diverging from that formula

add that to the weird character writing and pacing problems, and whelp

Like out of all the metarex that appeared to cause problems, the one I remember the most was one that actively knew was weak as fuck and was just setting traps for Sonic only to get Amy, Cream and Cosmo

(not counting that the plot twist with Cosmo being a spy breaks half the season in half and that Team Sonic should be dead more than once 💀 )

Chris and Cosmo were saved off-screen by Shadow, the fake emeralds were destroyed by Rouge inmediately and Eggman snaps Sonic out of it too easily. Just not it (and I liked the episode up until that moment)

(just as a note, these characters doing it is not the problem on itself. It's more so how everything was inmediately solved when they arrive rather than working their way to solve such problem)

Thoughts on Episode one.....well, I can see why people thought Knuckles got the shaft in the series.....got captured in the first episode. Not so much Knuckles as it is more like the Wade Whipple show

Not what I signed up for, but at least the premise is interesting....in that when it comes to the student and the apprentice....the apprentice has their work cut out for them. So, when the master slips, you need to pick up the slack.

Episode 2....How to play the role of James Bond with piss poor acuity. Also, Movie verse Knuckles needs some help with some of the things he says, like holy s;:!

Granted, a similar thing has happened before with other franchises, where the star characters that are visual effects were reduced to elements in their own series.
