Bottom is spectacular, no notes. Middle is pretty good, maybe a bit similar to the bottom but you can't avoid that if using a reference. I would consider breaking it up a bit with a brickbuilt post office sign. Roof is a bit flat, I'm wondering if you could do something like some layered shingles using panels or flags to give it some depth and some little details like a birds nest or a gutter/drain. Overall really good though

#

Maybe you could also do a slightly different window design on the second floor to make it look less copypaste

buoyant flame
#

yeah, im not sold on the roof texture

#

i like that sillouhette

#

raised on the outer edges

#

re: second floor windows, i thought about doing a different middle one

#

maybe a protruding bay window

#

im going to keep the three windows and their widths to accomode the interior

#

two offices and a hallway

#

this is the inspiration

#

i know Lego tends to have different floor features

#

to create distinct visual separation

#

im trying to balance that with having it be inspired by the source

#

too much realism and it just looks weird

#

too much on the other end and you start to lose the source

#

I like that

#

For the roof I'd also use sand green ingots and do them in steps to get a shallow slope, then slope them more dramatically so they look like plates more

buoyant flame
#

all the way up the second floor?

sterile moth
#

Yeah

buoyant flame
#

hmmmm

#

ill see

#

those right?

sterile moth
#

Yeah

#

And maybe the little roof spikes

sterile moth
#

Making the roof peak higher and adding this little thing might help

buoyant flame
#

hmmmm

sterile moth
#

Just ideas though it looks really nice the way it is

buoyant flame
#

good ideas all the samde

#

i played with the taller roof thing for a min but didnt go far

#

ill try again

#

I do want to see about the roof

#

I don’t like how flat it is

#

I did 5 different iterations of the foliage in the front

#

Current post office project is gonna expire in 8 days

#

If BDP didn’t recently ban Modulars I might have posted it there

buoyant flame
#

@sterile moth this looks promising

#

i can explore this more

buoyant flame
#

sculpted that roof part to countour around the front protrusions

#

works pretty well

buoyant flame
#

I will probably change the style of the front windows for the bottom or top floor

buoyant flame
#

that doesnt look quite right

sterile moth
#

I think it looks pretty good but the roof needs to overhang it by a stud

buoyant flame
#

yeah, thats next on my list

#

just trying to nail down the windows right now

#

more changes inc

#

i need to set up my Lego designs to a repo so i can version it

#

😄

#

made the windows more uniform between floors except the middle one

#

like in the reference

buoyant flame
#

changed the back to have no window on the bottom floor

#

that shelf still stays inside the baseplate area

#

its a small unloading bay for mail carriers

buoyant flame
#

hows that?

buoyant flame
#

wait

#

fixing the roof more

buoyant flame
#

ok

sterile moth
#

same with the shingles

#

very nice job

buoyant flame
#

I moved the chimney to be on the left lower roof part

#

How does the drain pipe look?

#

Scale? Too big? Too small?

sterile moth
#

I like it

buoyant flame
#

Now the windows on the front are different just subtle

#

I’m gonna try and move the postmasters office to that middle room upstairs

#

Swap it with the mail sorting room

#

Attic level is where Violet Evergarden would be staying, if she were there

#

Good call on the roof. Looks 100 times betted

#

Might take that center part of the roof higher and at a steeper angle

#

To where it meets closer together
