Im interested in buying barad, ive had orthanc for years and think they'd look nice having both, I was curious to hear thoughts on if I should spend the extra money to buy it brand new with the figures, or buy it for less or close to half the price with just the main build and no figures?

I think the figures are pretty stand out, sauron is amazing looking. I'd buy it complete. In the worst case scenario if you end up deciding you don't really need the figs, you could just sell them off. I assume they're in quite high demand and will be for some time.

(The books called Cooking with Monsters btw)

I thought war of the rohirim was okay, not as bad as people have said but also quite underwhelming for me personally. My biggest issue is that Helm hammerhand was FAR more interesting than Hera throughout the movie. Helm is the one actually undergoing emotional and mental turmoil that’s worthy of being delved deep into. Hera being the protagonist is not exactly a problem but I felt the movie didn’t justify her presence when the side characters have more interesting stories and feelings going on! I feel the movie would be really great if it followed Helm and ended on, (to put it without spoilers) the scene u can imagine his movie would end on. I also felt the villain (I don’t even remember his name) was just very half-baked. I did not feel anything seeing the rivalry between Hera and the villain, because the movie gives like 1-2 flashback clips to try to make u care about their relationship lol

There were periods of the movie where I was genuinely loving it and then other periods I really wish the story was going differently

Another case where I really really liked the first 30-40 mins and then as it went I kinda liked it less and less minus a few scenes

I like my gimlis to have the need for a box to stand on. He is way too tall with medium legs, he should be closer to a hobbit than a 5ft 11 elf. Accuracy was never up for grabs here regardless which legs he has.

yeah they swapped sam and merry's hair from 2012-2023. They look pretty similar in colour in that image from the council. Guess lego just wanted to make the hobbits as distinct from each other as they could so someone gets hit with the ginger hair lol

I think face prints from 2023 look way better in general. Boromir looks gaunt in 2012

I really want a helms deep or orthanc but the ship kind of hits multiple boxes for me.

I love LoTR/castle and ships and never has this set way back when, I enjoyed the tower and helms deep pretty well in my early 20s when they were current.

I remember getting Helms Deep at target for like $80 because of some clearance thing.
