Late buuut, Flying Bark is really booked right now as they’re working on the new animated Avatar film and a Stranger Things show so now MK is being animated by WildBrain, which is why the animation looks off. They’re also gonna be working on Dreamzzz from now on

It was a good attempt but I think it was a money thing. LEGO didn’t want to put more money down to have their stuff first or it was a scheduling thing with Flying Bark.

I think MK started a trend of how things should be build. It’s not that MK is going downhill but they started a movement of ways to build better with their other themes because of MK. Ninjago is a big factor because the location build sucked besides the city. Since MK came into the scene with new building techniques and parts, other themes have gotten a boost for it.

I definitely think MK should focus a lot on location builds since that’s where they excel the most

yes, the location builds are the strongest in my opinion. the Mechs normally are great but the pallet of this seems to be unpalatable. the vehicles are cool and seem to have space for characters but this vehicle is weak with only just space for Pigsy? i will say that a rework could be done for the mech, with the only problem being that the colors are to spread out.

My believe is that Sun Wukong is the start of powers and that he could match most fictional characters. He seemed to just have eye beam and other powers before other conceptual characters

At the end of Wukongs journey, he became a god… like he can’t have a true form on this plain of existence unless it’s a puppet of some kind.

Oh, gotcha. Monkie Kid is actually the only theme I pay full price for because it's almost impossible for me to find deals. I've gotten most of my other Lego at fractions of the cost, so it is what it is. Bone Demon is the only Lego set Ive ever overpaid for cuz I missed it by a day

im looking over ninjago and i am soooo jealous of their sets from the last two years or so

they look beautiful

and i think they are exactly what monkie kid should have been over in the west

especially looking at the dragon shrine set

i think one of my complaints is that they didn't do a whole lot of location setpieces outside of the major, expensive ones. you got a lot of vehicles and mechs but not an actual location

in the first waves they had the side buildings which were awesome to help ground you in the city and whatnot

and some cute side pieces during the spider queen arc

like the arcade, vending machine corner, etc etc

then it kinda dried up a lot

i forgot how incredible all of their main villain "boss" sets were

personal favorite though is Nezha's fire wheel.
Macaque and Bone Demon in the same set, plus a fun set piece with the throne and cage, plus one of the coolest vehicles ever

The minifigs are great imo(especially mk) but there is honestly better lego sets. There isn’t an extreme amount of articulation and is mediocre at best. I would highly recommend something such as the celestial pagoda, for 140, or of you are in europe the nezha’s ring of fire mech

If somehow monkie kid kicks the bucket I hope Lego dives into more (original) anime based theme

MK is even the much more well liked show between the two, dreamzzz reviews are predominantly just it being average, while MK is praised by almost everyone

I think Lego can benefit greatly by involving the fans more, they should probably reach out to certain fans and bigger creators about some themes

It's just 16 seasons, a sequel series, a couple of specials, and 2 pilot episodes

and some of those seasons aren't even that long to begin with

As someone who has watched the entire show multiple times

it ain't that bad of an experience

might seem a bit much but as long as you're invested in it you'll want to continue

(plus Dragons Rising is a soft reboot of the show so you don't even need to know that much about Ninjago to get into that show if you wanna start from there)
