Lore: January 2018, Livonia. At a secret Livonian complex called Skat-1, a disaster of unforeseen consequences occurs, an explosion of unknown nature destroys all life within a three kilometer radius of the complex. To clarify the circumstances, the chemical troops of the Livonian Defense Forces were sent to the complex, along with nuclear scientist Christina Makisovski. In her report on the events on the territory of Skat-1, she points out the loss of the reactor core and all organic life except hares and snakes. In addition, the effect of the explosion on fruit was noted. Two months later, the world public learns about the explosion, and European countries show concern. At the same time, scientists from the Russian Federation are conducting their own investigation and comparing the explosion with a similar incident in 2012 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which resulted in several more explosions that changed the entire exclusion zone. As a result of the second explosion, anomalies of unknown nature begin to appear all around the Skat-1 complex. Seeing that the situation is out of the control of the government of Livonia, the Russian Security Council decides to launch Operation Fairway to take the Skat-1 complex under control in order to prevent further explosions. During the operation, several helicopters with special forces on board are hit by a strong electromagnetic pulse and crash. Noticing the advance of the Russian Special Forces, the headquarters of the Livonian Defense Forces sends a rapid reaction group consisting of the 5th Mechanized Regiment.
