Operation Buck
July 1st, 2017 - Chernarus

Its early morning of a new month and members of the 27th Guards Independent Recon Battalion have crossed the border into Chernarus. Its nearly a decade since the last incursion into the former soviet state. Russian leadership has deemed it necessary to free the Chernarussian people from abuse and discrimination. The 27th Guards Independent Recon Battalion are the first boots on the ground in the Russian campaign to dismantle the western backed government of Chernarus named Operation Second Wind. Russian politicians have deemed it necessary for the 27th Guards Independent Recon Battalion to confirm rumors of western arm shipments in the port of Svetlorarsk. Military command have ordered the 27th Guard Independent Recon Battalion to destroy a CDF roadblock as well as capture the airfield northeast of Krasnovstav.

You will land in the town of Belaya Polyana and make your way to neutralize a CDF roadblock along a major cross border road. From there, you will complete the secondary objective in Svetlorarsk and investigate rumors of western arm shipments. Then, the final objective of capturing the Krasnovstav airstrip and setting up a makeshift forward airbase to allow elements of the 31st Guards Airborne Brigade to land and relieve you.

Friendly Chernarussian separatists have sabotaged CDF communications networks and will slow any response to our incursion.

The position we ended up in at svetloyarsk was my fault, i didnt understand the terrain and it put us in between two elevated enemies

We don't blame you for the crashes, it is what it is

#

Honestly it was a bit late for me at the end so I looked for an excuse to leave, so the crash came at a good timing

#

The op was less fun than usual, the confusion of who is which faction was meh

#

I liked some concepts like the fact we got ambushed or the AP mines, but I feel it could've been dramatized a bit more

#

Like, the ambush could've been more serious than a small fire team

#

And the single AP mine could've been a minefield

#

Also some issues with the Arsenal, where some kits were missing radios etc

#

But still a nice op

#

I'm sure next one will be even better

agree with a lot of what fpg said above. it was confusing as to who was enemy and who wasn't at the start. I also felt like there was a lot of 'aimbot' AI were you would pie an angle or peak a corner and immediately get headshot and downed. though the ' kill-ability ' if the enemy seemed spot on. maybe there were just a little toooo accurate in first round fired

if the same mission was ran again i would prefer to see it played throughout the night if it was intended as a night op, and for objectives to either be split into different missions that we can pick up and drop in between them and allow for more dramatic action packed objectives... as to me at least it felt a bit like walking sim for a while due to objs being so far apart.

for e.g. mission 1 was that we had to rescue the pilots of the heli, mission 2 was that we got info from them that xyz was in the next town over so we go deal with that, and something there led us to assault the airfield in a 3rd or 4th mission etc...... that make sense?

big props to the zeus and players involved, once we got into the groove of it i thought things went well, comms where decent and plans executed as well as could be hoped. I did like the premade kits that we can edit at mission start though as that reallly sped up getting into it I believe.

little improvements often are sometimes the best form of progress, and there was definitly progress in that op from the 1st one
