#RoS 5e Feedback

and @kind marsh
and the dnd5e
The first image (Paper) is the default.
The default one is very easy to read. The light brown one (third picture) also looks quite readable except for maybe the attribute values next to the skill modifiers.
Perhaps replace the black in background 2-5 with something that is a subtle hue of the main colour? So the contrast is not as heavy. (not a graphics designer)
Gonna change this into the main feedback thread if thats ok @warped elk
It would be nice feature if they were tileable as well.
@winged agate No problem.
Part of the problem with recolouring the 5e sheet is that it's virtually a single panel. I am looking to se if it's possible to colour the data panels and just have the background surrounding them (like we have done in classic Symbaroum) but it's a lot of css overriding that could get ugly very fast.
FYI. We are aware of the issue with the import running each time you start the world and am looking into it.
@ebon dawn @quiet valve , you can use this manifest link on forge to install the most recent beta <snip> DM me for the url
That worked splendidly! Thanks!
Is there a plan to make the max corruption threshold its own attribute key? This way an item/ability such as Student of Magic can increase the threshold without using the custom option. or is it already there and I missed it?
such as via an active effect? with a few tweaks i can provide a bonus field to use
Yeah I was trying to use it as an active effect. If you can use a bonus field that would be perfect!
i appreciate the feedback on more advanced uses of dnd5e's functionality in syb5e. please lemme know if you find anything else lacking!
Idk if its possible but could favored spells be set like prepared spells? Where its just a quick click? I believe they removed prepared casting except for the symbolist and the artifact crafter
possibly, could you sketch something really quick (and crude) so I am on the same page?
with the primary UX failing being "Its difficult to tell which one of my spells are favored, at a glance?"
or "I want to quickly toggle favored status?"
yea, that makes sense
thanks for the explanation, yesterday i pushed a new beta (which can be grabbed with a simple update), but this was not included. I'll file an issue with this and see if I can get to it before release date!
Thanks thats awesome
is there a plan to add temporary corruption to the NPC sheet?
there is not as it is my understanding that NPCs dont have a use for temporary corruption
the data fields are there and taken into account to compute their total corruption
but it generally should be 0 temp corruption
It could just be hand waved but it couldn't find in the book where it wants me to do that. also some of the magic users in the bestiary have temp corruption listed
spells cast by NPCs generate permanent corruption
so that is listing their corruption cost for the spell
oh word did not know that
its either hiding in the books somewhere...or i asked the designer directly while implementing... ๐ค
but yea, anytime an NPC would otherwise generate Temp. Corruption, its routed to Permanent by default
the Bestiary module will also have these NPCs configured correctly (with favored spells)
I can't find where it says that in the 3 books but I'll take you word for it though it definitely doesn't seem right
i'll double check that source ๐
but basically 100% sure its correct as implemented
Appreciate the response and the help. I can just use the player character sheet for the important characters and the only real difficulty will be losing the ease of the 5e statblock importer add on
that one i can definitely help with: https://github.com/trioderegion/5e-statblock-importer/releases/download/1.0.0/module.json
that is a reworked version more compatible with syb5e statblocks. It does not handle the corruption values (well, it correctly computes max assuming Cha as default)
not perfect, but better
oh sweet thats awesome
i appreciate the questions!
OK so I scanned all three books and it appears they try to keep it so the npc's don't get corruption at all except for some spell casters which there are very few of and the rest have a x per day system but theres nothing mentioning the corruption moving straight to permanent
it definitely feels like they moved away from temporary corruption for npcs but its not stated anywhere
and there are places where they left the temporary corruption in place where they removed it for others
vs
those are all good points ๐ i'll bring them up
I checked on the Free League forum (https://forum.frialigan.se/viewforum.php?f=130) and cant see anything specific to NPC's and Corruption. But that might be a better place to ask.
@haughty warren and we have the Zed themselves!
the above discussion is just looking deeper into the NPC corruption rules. As the core rules module is implemented, NPCs only really care about permanent corruption and any temp corruption is applied to permanent for them
Yep, nominally speaking in the Shadow entry, the first number is current Corruption (i.e. permanent + temporary) and the second number is their Threshold. Usually the first number is only permanent Corruption, since we don't know if the NPC/monster has been up to anything recently or not.
(It's conceivable that an adventure might feature a scenario that, due to the background info, we know the NPC has recently gained temporary Corruption and that would be noted in the scenario.)
For Ritualists, remember that this is the ordinary rule โ you gain permanent Corruption and then can cast the spell (as a ritual) without gaining temporary Corruption.
And creatures that are Thoroughly Corrupt (i.e. their permanent Corruption exceeds their Threshold) do use the spells/day setup, representing the power they can project. We might well have a chance to provide more details on that in the future.
Perhaps related - but while the original system has temporary corruption for NPCs, it is often only used when the narrative fits it - i.e. when the story you are telling fits best with the outcome of corruption.
so i guess the overall question is -- should NPCs show temp corruption? and do spellcasting NPCs generate temp corruption that should be tracked in this way
Yep, for a lot of situations, the NPC/monster won't stick around long enough to keep track, since they only appear in a scene or two.
and if an NPC is important enough to track over multiple scenes, they will often get assigned a PC statblock in dnd5e anyway
Yes, a NPC that has Spellcasting (not Innate Spellcasting) should gain Corruption when casting a spell. I believe that the module supports this?
it gains Permanent corruption by default
I'm not sure that the differention matters, in most cases. Although officially, it is temp Corruption. My apologies for not catching this sooner. (I'm such a luddite sometimes)
official is official, i can modify that so that the corruption display for NPCs and PCs are the same and all spellcasting generates temporary
(i.e. I am likely just to scribble it down on scrap paper)
Here is the issues list for the module. Please feel free to post issues as you find them, or requests for additional functionality as you use the module:

wow that was an adventure -- @sand grotto
but we have successfully repurposed the prepared markers into red = never, gray/empty = not favored, black/filled = favored, along with filters for favored spells and their counts ๐ฅณ
That's awesome!
Has it been pushed yet? It doesn't seem to update for me
The 1.0 release should be coming very shortly and will be able to be obtained on the foundry package list ๐
ah ok ty
and it has been released!
