Okay we will continue in here

#

So let me double check that we have all the info: You can not connect to the local invite link from another device. Your network is set to private, and you ran the firewall rule I provided?

yes, thanks for the quick help by the way

#

it said the enforment stauts was non applicable though

#

if that means anything

scarlet matrix

That's standard when adding the firewall rule

#

Can you access the local link now from another device on the same network?

i tried it on mine and my gfs laptop,. only works on my desktop which is the device running foundry, on the other devices its timing out

sadly it didnt, it might be an issue of my router. its an LTE based router as it will take some weeks for my apartment to get cable and setup the old one.

So you wont be able to host using a LTE router at all

#

They are 100% always behind CGNAT and that wont let you connect to other players

#

It looks like you're behind CGNat. That will prevent players from connecting to you.
You have a couple options:

  • You can call your ISP and ask to be allowed to port forward and removed from the CGNat (start here).
  • Use one of the paid hosting partners. They do all the work, but it costs a bit
  • You can have one of your players host your game for you. (With an IPS that allows port forwarding)
  • You can setup one of the free cloud hosts (Guides available on the wiki)
  • You can try a 3rd party tool like ngrok, localtunnel or zeroteir

i was aware that online hosting wouldnt work, i was hoping

#

that local would work

scarlet matrix

I would expect it to work local, but LTE modems are a bit unique and I can't say if it would one way or the other

#

all i was trying was to get the local working, any idea how i could see why that wouldnt work ? grasping at straws as i no very little about routers and networks in general

scarlet matrix
#

Most LTE hot spot device aren't designed to let internal network traffic talk

#

But I couldn't say. The device is either blockinging local chatter or you have another firewall running somewhere

if it would be the firewall it probably wouldnt have worked with the old router right ? if i can narrow it down to being the router ill call my isp tomorrow and ask them about the deviced and if i have any options, eitehr thanks for the help
