Paste a screenshot of what you did on the DHCP reservations

#

JW-Mesh Router

#

Trying to find my screenshot...

oblique escarp
#

Okay we need to verify that is setup correctly. So back on the computer do a ipconfig /all in command prompt and take a screen shot of the output that has the 192.168.0.33 address

slow canopy
#

Ok

oblique escarp
#

Was there a reason you chose 192.168.7.146

#

you didn't do /all

slow canopy
#

Not seeing 0.33 anywhere now

#

Looked thru all of the output and not seeing that IP address now

oblique escarp
#

paste the entire output

#

Have you rebooted the computer since you made that reservation?

slow canopy
#

Maybe

#

Shoukd I reboot or copy output?

#

I remember it asking me to reboot router which I did do.

oblique escarp
#

You can reboot first if you want. A reservation like that won’t take effect until after a reboot

slow canopy
#

Ok here goes

#

My router software has another section called DHCP & NAT with more setting too BTW.

#

Ok, rebooted. How do I copy more than a screens worth of DOS output?

oblique escarp
#

You can press control+a and control+c and paste it with control+v into discord. It will probably ask you to upload it as a file

slow canopy
#

Sitting here forever looking at a file icon. Did it send?

oblique escarp
#

Yeah discord's file upload thing doesn't work super great

slow canopy
#

It's confusing.

oblique escarp
#

So I'm not sure what device you made your reservation on but it wasn't this one

#

The mac address of this computer is 88:D7:F6:97:9B:B7

slow canopy
#

I did it in the eero software on my phone

oblique escarp
#

You did a reservation on

slow canopy
#

it controls the router

oblique escarp
#

Yeah you just didn't assign an IP to this computer

slow canopy
#

maybe i reserved my phone...?

oblique escarp
#

maybe

slow canopy
#

so i just change the mac address and should be good to go,no?

oblique escarp
#

If you can type in those fields then put 88:D7:F6:97:9B:B7 in the mac address line

#

I would recommend making the reservation something on the same subnet as the router too

#

which is 192.168.0

#

You can just reserve the address the computer currently has which is 192.168.0.33

#

home routers get confused easily and having something on 192.168.7 might cause problems down the line

slow canopy
#

Change the DHCP & NAT setting back to "auto" or keep 192.168.0.0?

oblique escarp
#

I'd do IP address: 192.168.0.33 MAC 88:D7:F6:97:9B:B7

slow canopy
#

Yeah I made those changes too. I changed DHCP & NAT earlier this morning...not knowing what I was doing.

You can leave it like that. That just says you're using the 192.168.0.0 range

slow canopy
#

ok. I do have one more very strange issue which I need some help with. You're probably going to laugh about it too...let me get a screen capture...

#

A player was making a character and somehow managed to get this onto the scene. It now appears on every scene and I can't delete it or move it...

oblique escarp
#

That looks like something a module is doing. Disable all your modules and see if it goes away

slow canopy
#

ok

#

Nope. Still there.

oblique escarp
#

Is it a token? Click on it and then right click it. Does it open the little menu with the gear?

stray snow
#

Might be a system thing

#

What system are you using?

slow canopy
#

089

oblique escarp
#

System as in "DND5E" "Pathfinder"

slow canopy
#

3.5e 0.98.4

#

D&D 3.5 basically

oblique escarp
#

It may be something that specific system is doing. You'd need to ask in #dnd-other and see if anyone else has seen it

slow canopy
#

ok. you guys rock and thanks again!
