#Port Forwarding troubleshooting

My modem is separate from the router, but the ISP said they set it to be fully open. could that be the problem?
Yes, that could be the issue. Are you able to login to your modem?
Honestly not sure, haven't tried since I got my own router (their modem/router was garbage)
It quite likely could be the issue, not seeing much else that could get in the way
If your modem is acting like a router you'll need to port forward on that end to your wifi router
It shouldn't be, but I'll see if I can check. Thanks for the help!
You may be able to put the modem into bridge mode, which would take that layer out. Otherwise if you see areas in the modem for DHCP or port forwarding, then it is a router as well.
ok, They had told me they put it in bridge mode, but I'll double check with them to be sure.
On your wifi router, what does it list as the external/internet address? You should be able to see it on a status page or similar.
That's a good sign that your modem is in bridge mode
Can you try unchecking the UPnP option in the Foundry configuration, then giving your modem and router a restart?
Once they come back, confirm the local network IP is the same and then give things a test
Ok, I'll try.
I'm back. I unchecked the UPnP and restarted the server, router, and modem, but nothing appears to have changed.
I have to step away for a meeting, but I've asked others for advice and someone should be able to step in and take a look
Hey 🙂 I'm taking a look over everything and just getting caught up to try and help.
On a quick look, it seems like everything should work so let's just double check a few things from the top (please excuse me if you've already done this...)
- From another device on the same network (even a phone on wifi), have you been able to successfully connect using the local link?
Ok, found all of the info from the troubleshooting thread as well - so looks like internal does indeed work fine.
Let me do some quick search on your router.
Ok, but I only have a few mins before I have to leave for work myself.
Ok... that rule is definitely setup right.
Off the top of my head, my thought goes completely to Malware Bytes. A number of 3rd party antivirus slap a firewall in that even if you disable the antivirus they keep the firewall active - and even though the local link works, it is possible for those firewalls to block external traffic but allow internal.
