Ok, let's start from the beginning ๐Ÿ™‚
Your actor token has darkvision at 60 foot range?

#

Davion seems to be the only one set correctly.

#

Neo only has a 5 foot darkvision range.

#

And Alore is 30 feet.

sour saddle
#

Davion has the googles of night so i set it to 60, Alore is elf so 30, and just to avoid pitch black i set neo to 5

#

Is that the wrong way to do it?

pine plinth
#

5e? Elves should have 60 feet

#

Darkvison should only be set if the character has darkvision.

If you want to set the basic vision to 10 to avoid total darkness, I think that might work. But dark is dark, unless they have a light source.

#

Can you post a screenshot of the scene with the darkvision token selected?

#

It only shows if the token is selected. If none selected and you are the GM< you will see all color.

sour saddle
#

Like this?

pine plinth
#

Yes, thanks.

#

So this is at night?

sour saddle
#

Yes

pine plinth
#

Seems very bright

sour saddle
#

My bad, i had global on

pine plinth
#

Ok, can you post a screenshot of the scene lighting settings?

#

Oh

#

Is it working correctly now?

sour saddle
pine plinth
#

Yes ๐Ÿ™‚

#

I would adjust the tokens for the correct distance and vision types and you seem to be all set.

sour saddle
#

If i change to daytime it looks like this

pine plinth
#

Yeah, global is off so no light source, but the "daytime" does make it brighter.

sour saddle
#

I see, so i should just switch it back and fourth when switching from day to night?

pine plinth
#

If you want daylight outside and darkness inside, you might want to place a light outside to emulate sunlight and the walls will block it from inside.

sour saddle
#

Ok. Hey thanks for taking the time ๐Ÿ™‚ I am new to fvtt. Used r20 for many years

pine plinth
#

Switch back and forth? Once you set the vision you shouldn't have to change it unless they get more distance or something like that.

#

No worries ๐Ÿ™‚ We are here to help ๐Ÿ™‚

sour saddle

#

Ah, long battle ๐Ÿ™‚

#

I think I would use the daylight source for outside and set that light to activate at a certain darkness level. Like .5 so halfway through the transition it will activate the light source.

#

In the light settings, there is a slider for darkness activation.

sour saddle
#

Thanks, i will try that ๐Ÿ™‚

pine plinth
#

Oh, no. Not a slider, 2 input boxes.

#

I think I have the numbers reversed there...

sour saddle
pine plinth
#

In the light settings. Double click on the light.

#

I think for a "sun" light, you want 0 - .5.

sour saddle
#

Is this in light control - draw light scource?

pine plinth
#

Yes, once you make the light a settings box should show up.

sour saddle
#

Ah i see it

pine plinth
#

Actually. YOu still need to double click it to get the settings..

#

Things change and my poor brain can't keep track ๐Ÿ˜‰

sour saddle
#

There are so much debt to fvtt, so no wonder

#

Thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚
