Ok, let's start from the beginning ๐
Your actor token has darkvision at 60 foot range?
Davion seems to be the only one set correctly.
Neo only has a 5 foot darkvision range.
And Alore is 30 feet.
Davion has the googles of night so i set it to 60, Alore is elf so 30, and just to avoid pitch black i set neo to 5
Is that the wrong way to do it?
5e? Elves should have 60 feet
Darkvison should only be set if the character has darkvision.
Oh yea, mb
If you want to set the basic vision to 10 to avoid total darkness, I think that might work. But dark is dark, unless they have a light source.
Can you post a screenshot of the scene with the darkvision token selected?
It only shows if the token is selected. If none selected and you are the GM< you will see all color.
Yes
Seems very bright
My bad, i had global on
Ok, can you post a screenshot of the scene lighting settings?
Oh
Is it working correctly now?
Yes ๐
I would adjust the tokens for the correct distance and vision types and you seem to be all set.
Yeah, global is off so no light source, but the "daytime" does make it brighter.
I see, so i should just switch it back and fourth when switching from day to night?
If you want daylight outside and darkness inside, you might want to place a light outside to emulate sunlight and the walls will block it from inside.
Ok. Hey thanks for taking the time ๐ I am new to fvtt. Used r20 for many years
Switch back and forth? Once you set the vision you shouldn't have to change it unless they get more distance or something like that.
No worries ๐ We are here to help ๐
Like if the party ends up fighting through the night to daybreak
Ah, long battle ๐
I think I would use the daylight source for outside and set that light to activate at a certain darkness level. Like .5 so halfway through the transition it will activate the light source.
In the light settings, there is a slider for darkness activation.
Thanks, i will try that ๐
Where is this option?
In the light settings. Double click on the light.
I think for a "sun" light, you want 0 - .5.
Is this in light control - draw light scource?
Yes, once you make the light a settings box should show up.
Ah i see it
