I'm going to move this into a thread for now. Two things we need to try here. 1st. Use an incognito window
sure
2nd did you intentionally setup your network to use 192.168.178.x range?
(got my wife into the thread, she's the IT magician ๐ )
Hi, I'm @queen kite 's wife. That is the local IP the raspi got, we also have a global IP for the other players joining
in the meantime, incognito is stuck on loading screen as well
I'm seeing this error through the browser console, I don't know if it has any relevance in this issue:
Understood. I am asking if you intentionally setup the router with 192.168.178.1 or if that's the auto assigned ip range
if it's auto assigned it's indicitive of other issues
auto assigned
You are not trying to load into foundry on the raspberry pi correct?
It's just running the server and you're using a different machine to load into foundry
Raspi: Running Server
Laptop @wooden igloo : loads succesfully into foundry
PC @queen kite : does not load into foundry
all 3 machines are within the same household
Both neva and elshone are on the same local network?
okay
So the issue is on your PC elshone
are you using a 3rd party antivirus software?
Kaspersky
There is a high probablity that your antivirus is causing the issue
but no warning was triggered... i'll try to deactivate it rn
if it's that simple, i will be equally thankful and embarassed
Usually deactiving it wont resolve the issue. Full uninstalls often do. If you're paying for the sofrware you can reach out to them for support as well
It's say it's about 90% likely
Also if you have nordvpn installed that may also be causing this specific issue
if it were the antivirus, he wouldn't be able to reach the adress in the first place, right? he can load the /join page, but when trying to load the game, it takes forever (for me and other players it takes a couple of minutes, but finally it loads correctly)
What browser are you using on the pc to access foundry?
chrome
They often disable the websockets
NordVPN specifically disables websockets which breaks foundry in a similar way. Kasperky also will block websocket traffic unless explicity whitelisted
Did it resolve it?
I don't use that software so I'm not sure how to whitelist in it. If you're paying for it their support will be able to assist
Anytime! Glad we resolved it quickly
thanks!!!
Hello there!
to avoid spam and since you seem to have raspberry expertise, we have a follow-up question
our game seems to go pretty slow (load times are not the best, but bearable since, but the lag [i.e. moving the tokens] makes it nearly unplayable)
wait, nevermind... i think it's wall complexity
on a different wall-less map, things run smooth
