Any errors showing in the console (F12)

#

Ah. Did you delete the crit table?

wheat mica
#

jup

#

no error showing

#

"Fetch event handler is recognized as no-op. No-op fetch handler may bring overhead during navigation. Consider removing the handler if possible."

#

shrugs

OK. So just hit the Re-Import button.
Re-Import - is for replacing items that have been deleted and does not overwrite.
Import Assets - Replaces Existing assets so they have to be there.

wheat mica
#

but that's just re-improt adventure.

#

I'm so sorry, maybe I'm dumb but I don't know what the fuck is goin on rn

#

ah., no, it worked

#

sorry

hidden prism
#

It does say Import Adventure but it will only import the assets that have been deleted.
๐Ÿ™‚ It's not you. I have not made it a clear as I could have.

wheat mica
#

No, it's good. I just did not check

#

Okay.. now... I can only change the title of the crit injury but not the rest, otherwise the modifiers get deleted. right?

hidden prism
#

You can change the text in the critical injuries table to German and as long as you preserve the (html) formatting the items will be created in German. But your (or the player) will still need to manually update the specific modifier under modifiers tab once it's been created.

#

Last line of the third paragraph.

wheat mica
#

Wait... you said the modifiers are created within the roll table. because of that I thought I messed up the formatting. If we have to add modifiers within the character sheet on the fly anyway, even before I made the translation, then I could just have kept the translation...

#

๐Ÿคฃ

hidden prism
#

Na, the roll table text is used to create the item. But I am not celver enough to extract the (various) modifiers and apply them to the item that is created.

#

So for instance: Here I rolled a #34

#

I then open the item and on the modifiers tab make the changes:

#

Those modifiers are then applied until the Crit is deleted.

wheat mica
#

Yeah I get that.

#

Okay... but there is also an option to create critical injuries as items with fixed modifiers. But there is no use for that?

hidden prism
#

It's there as an option. You would just need to create them, Get the player to manually roll on the crit table and drag the correct crit item onto their sheet.

wheat mica
#

That would be an elegant solution.

hidden prism
#

Remeber the roll would be js /roll 10*1d6+1d6

wheat mica
#

That's just a delete and drag&drop thing instead of remember the modificators, open the editor, change the tab, type in the values...

#

No, its good. I let them still use the button in the sheet but I only switch out the outcome.

hidden prism
#

Ah yea that would work.

wheat mica
#

So if they roll the 33, I look for the german crit item in question, drag it into the sheet and delete the untranslated one that has no mod. voila. still some work but convinient enough.

#

THANK YOU A LO!

#

LOT

hidden prism
#

The only way I could really do it would be to hard code the table which could cause problems with Language changes.

#

NP. Happy to help.
But you have got me thinking about a relatively painless (to me) way I might be able to do it.

wheat mica
#

I think the next step for Foundry VTT would be to roll tables also being able to select items to apply to sheets and not just text and other roll tables.

hidden prism
#

There are a few improvements they could make to roll tables that would really help out developers. But they have higher priorities.

wheat mica
#

Yeah sure. WiP... can understand that. But man... this program is so smart already. For example I just realized that the items I already translated were not duplicated by the re-import because everything has an own ID... So the ID of every item got carried over with the translation and further modules will not mess up anything.

hidden prism
#

Yea. They made that change a couple of releases ago which really helps.

wheat mica
#

We took some time migrating to the newest version because we once had some trouble with files being corrupted by an update. So no wonder all this is fairly new to me now. lol

hidden prism
#

The greatest thing they have done with V11 is the ability to take backups. ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

wheat mica
#

Very true! Anyway. Thank you for your time! Really dig what you're doin!

hidden prism

You are welcome. Now back to the Building Better Worlds module ๐Ÿ™‚
