I'm going to move us into a thread to keep things tidy. Do you know how to create a port forwarding rule?
Understood, thank you.
I believe I did it the first time I attempted, but I could be mistaken. This is my first time mucking around in the router much.
For what it is worth, I'm using an ATT BGW320 which seems to have some slightly different capabilities from other routers. Some instructions I found didn't quite match up.
No problem. Grab me a screenshot of what you did and I can help you through it
I am a little time limited though, as I need to step away in about 15 minutes
And if your time is up, no problem. I appreciate the help. I can wait!
So disable that. That's bad
Done
That is what is giving you the false positive with the green checkmark
So click on Firewall
NAT/Gaming
Good good. Hop back over ot foundry and restore it to port 30000
What address does your invite link say is the local address?
Okay great. Delete that FoundryVTT rule in the screenshot
Then from the service list find Foundr VTT and in the device needed, find the one that says 192.168.1.78
I actually don't have an option for that!
Take a screenshot of the list
Little big, apologies
In a powershell window *(the one you ran the CGNAT test in) type hostname and tell me what it spits out
DESKTOP-5QJ7AUC
Okay select that from that dropdown (incidently it is matching what we just deleted but that's okay)
It has that option twice; could that have been the problem?
Couple more steps to check now
Maybe I should do it for both?
Yeah, are you connected with wifi and wired?
Yes!
That is the problem
Okay windows defender really doesn't like that
The best course of action here is to disconnect from one of those methods and then rename your PC
Yeah honestly I am not sure either. Let me quickly google it
Great. Is foundry running?
Spooling up now
That is fantastic! Thank you very much for your help.
No problem, make sure you get an admin password on there so random people don't mess with your settings
Thanks for the wisdom!
Only with your help.
