@uncut sand once you've disabled UPnP in Foundry, let me know here ๐Ÿ™‚

uncut sand
#

done

#

does it apply instantly?

hidden grove
#

Okay next up, through cmd or Powershell, simply run this command: ipconfig. To open up command prompt you can type cmd into Windows search bar

hidden grove
#

What we need is to connect to your router

#

And running IP config we're looking for the default gateway

#

usually it is 192.168.0.1 but we'll double check that is the case for you

terminal?

hidden grove
#

Cool yep so mac it's terminal, then it's ifconfig instead

uncut sand
#

holy wall of text

#

ok, this is what it gave me with ifconfig:

hidden grove
#

So drop it in here, use backticks to format it for better readability

#

so
```
text here
```

uncut sand
#

#

its going over the character limit

#

just let me know if I made a mistake along the way here

hidden grove
#

Sod it we'll try the default, so just try following this and see where you land: http://192.168.0.1

#

Also be worth checking who your ISP is, (Internet Service Provider)

uncut sand
hidden grove
#

Yep, in theory you should just be able to click it and it will open your default browser

hidden grove
#

I should have checked sooner, IIRC correctly, Spectrum requires you to download their mobile app to enable port forwarding

uncut sand
hidden grove
#

it's not encrypted so that's the difference

uncut sand
uncut sand
#

gives me the same result

hidden grove
#

If you have any issues following the steps above, come back and give us a shout. Once you have port forwarding set up, the easiest way to verify it's working is by grabbing a device that can connect off your wifi, e.g. phone using mobile data, then launch Foundry on your PC, and try to connect to it through the public IP that will be provided in the invite link inside Foundry.

#

But if you get stuck at any point, dw, we'll take a look and figure out each step along the way

uncut sand
#

it reset my router lol sorry for not answering

hidden grove
#

it's okay, I don't think port forwarding should have done, unless Spectrum just does weird stuff

uncut sand
#

holy mac n cheese it worked lmao

hidden grove
#

hallelujah

uncut sand
#

thank you ๐Ÿ™

#

so, for future reference

uncut sand
#

is there anything I will have to do in the future to make sure it keeps open or is it one and done?

hidden grove
#

Only thing I would suggest doing if you haven't, is set an IP reservation in your router to make sure that your device IP doesn't change in your network

#

Other than that, just periodically check your invite links as, most ISPs use Dynamic IPs which means your public one is subject to change.

#

You can set up dynamic dns, but even I haven't fully sussed that one out myself

uncut sand
#

how does one go about doing that, my spectrum as well probably right?

hidden grove
#

So for reserved IP, yep it will be through the IP. What it is essentially is saying, this IP is reserved for this device, don't give it to anything else

#

If you just google How to reserve IP in Spectrum I'm sure you'll find what you need ๐Ÿ™‚

#

For me it looks like this:

uncut sand
#

ok perfect

#

thank you a million times for your help :)) may all your rolls be nat 20s

hidden grove
#

They never are unless I don't want them to be ๐Ÿ™‚
