It's possible your Zone Alarm software is blocking the connection. If it was my computer I'd remove it as Windows Defender is updated quicker than most anti virus software
yeah that makes sense. My subscription expired on it and I haven't renewed....so it's probably worth uninstalling. I'll do that now.
The other thing to check while you're waitng on that is from the other laptop, can you connect to the 192.168.1.1 router and see if http://192.168.1.14:30000 loads foundry
ok the laptop can see the Fios router at 192.168.1.1 but 192.168.1.14:3000 does not load Foundry...
That means the port forwarding rule on the orbi router isn't working
Rebooting the Foundry desktop following the ZA uninstall....
Right now we've discovered the orbi port forwarding isn't working properly
So let's double check that rule and menu
Is the laptop connected to the fios directly because if it's still on the orbi it wont work
The laptop is using the Orbi's wifi.
okokok -- Foundry invite link is green following the reboot to complete ZA uninstall. The Windows Defender popped up when I opened Foundry and I "allow access" -- and now it's green.
laptop connects now too for 192.168.1.14:3000
so, probably ZoneAlarm's firewall was doing the blocking somehow?
Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate you taking the time!
Sorry my kids got home from school and needed my attention
