Hello community ! Posting here because didn't want to overload the support with a maybe irrelevant question
At startup, and in general when using discord in windowed mode, the window slightly superposes to the task bar. If I open another window like my web brower, I will see the small part of the Discord window that is on the task bar. Also, when I have an unread message from a server, the white dot doesn't show on the left of the server icon because it appears outside of my screen, suggesting the window size is too big. When I double click somewhere on the discord window, it fits into the screen and all the problems are solved. If I double click again, it gets back to the original annoying size. I would like it to be the correct size by default. I did not find any option to set the default window size. Hi guys. Need some help.

I have a discord server that I made into a community and enabled onboarding (not sure if this is one of the issues). Once the member passes onboarding, I tag them with a role called "Passer".

I made a number of categoriesand channels that is disabled for viewing for everyone and enabled for "Passer". It seems to work fine BUT I wanted to make a certain role not being able to view a category. This role is "Probation".

It seems to be easy which is add this role in the category and restrict the View Channel and Read Message History. I did so but it is not working EVEN if I put the Probation role up in the hierarchy.

Anyone got an idea where I got it wrong? I have over 500 members and would like to put probation only to a handful. ugh.

If any role has access to the category, the user will have access. You would have to remove passer and any other roles with access.

I'm just talking about how non-intuitive the solve to the issue is, it happened to me too, and took me more time to realize than it should, from my subjective point, it's an issue. Because the correlation of these 2 common functions in the discord app cause a problem, that is non-intuitive in the discord design for people that are facing this problem for the first time. It's a struggle for them, and I personally think there should be a pop-up where it directly mentions why can't the admin that has the rights to do so, move the channels. (getting off-topic)

could be, avast is a pretty bad antivirus that sometimes blocks really basic processes, try disabling it, and the firewall in the control panel

some viruses are actually good, and can't be detected with basic windows defender, and it's better to be safe than sorry, but if you aren't actually installing files from torrents and other non-official sources, then just having windows defender might be fine, but it might be better to get an extra layer of protection for your files if you pay for an antivirus.

shouldn't be downloading is a pretty broad term, it's not that hard to find an actual virus if you are installing popular torrents. Some viruses are disguised better than others and by having a good paid antivirus you can allow yourself to rely on it and browse the internet without minimizing your downloading activity, but it's preferential of course, for some people antiviruses are overkill, you can also get yearly deals on antiviruses sometimes.
