ive confirmed with a couple friends that the compromised account's owner has indeed been hacked, and we've put out a warning in a server we share

Yes, that's how the scam is. Your friend talked to their "support" person, and changed their info for the account over. Then they'd try to get you to, and the cycle repeats

Only send one ticket. It could take a while to get answered. Making multiple tickets only hinders getting a response, as well as marking all extras as spam & closed.

Hey there yall, a guy from my fl just texted me, saying that he accidentally reported me for scamming/illegal purchases because my pfp was similar to the one of the actual scammer. He then sent me a screenshot of a mail by Discord, telling me to contact an "official support account", the ticket looked fishy to me since I never heard of that being the case so I wanted to ask you for opinions on it, even tho I already made an official ticket on the matter in case it is real

This is a scam. Discord Support will never DM you for assistance, nor to change your email.

Do not worry, your account is not in bad standing nor will it get banned. The account that "reported" you was hacked.

Please report & block all users involved & any suspicious messages via the in app reporting (IAR) system.

Regardless of whether you're using your phone number, the email address is where a password reset would go, and where any support requests would go. Its used to prove your the original owner. Without it, you're out of luck.
