Hey everyone, super quick question but it's one I've been struggling with for a really long time. So right now, I use Discord for a lot of communication within my teams as a replacement for Slack.

I never really enjoyed using Slack, hwoever I've just noticed that they've introduced a new catch up feature and IOS widget which has been an absolute gamechanger. Reason being that after having so many different discord servers for each client has become really difficult to manage and results in me missing a lot of messages. So i'm considering just biting the bullet and moving to slack for this kind of stuff.

The perm that elevates a user to extra owner/trusted admin is "Adminstrator" permission. You create a role with this permission enabled and assign it to the user. You can't apply it directly to a user

though as a word of caution I would ask you to re-consider before giving "Adminstrator" permission to someone since they can do literally anything excpet deleting the server

You'd have to set up a script or the likes to send a message in a specific server/channel through the API, which is not allowed. A macro on the other hand would work but that basically would just require you to leave the channel open at all times for it to work when the time comes

Hey everyone, anyone know why my discord soundboard is incredibly low pitched whenever I play sounds on it? I made a video demonstrating it and traced the cause to the communication output of my headset. My headset has 2 different outputs one for voice chat sounds and one for game sounds. I’ve had the bad luck of visiting servers (not too many, thankfully) that I thought were going to be okay, and see things that have reason to be argued as ToS violations (one of which, I definitely knew was violating ToS of the worst kind [of the 2D-type, but still horrifying] after checking back on it). I’ve made sure to leave as quickly as I could (for one of them I had to spend some time deleting my entire message history because I was truly that scared that my previous existence on them may cause my account to be deleted)

Another question I have is about bots, mainly MEE6. They tend to @you whenever you leave or say your username when you left. I’ve been on a mission this past summer (I’ve spent all of my summer break worrying) to delete my presence off of bad servers, and I was wondering if these @s count towards my “existence” on a server that I don’t want to associate with due to the above in the scenario they are reported. I’ve been trying to contact MEE6 Support to see if they can delete this stuff on their end, but I haven’t gotten back anything yet.

I’m too scared to report anything, or even contact Discord Staff via Support Ticket to express my concerns because my Discord Account is definitely very precious to me (it contains evidence of my video game creation process, in case someone tries to steal it from me). Hi! my wife was randomly signed out of her discord account tonight and when she tried to sign in she received an email stating she had violated Discord TOS/Community Guidelines - however she doesnt understand how. She just checked her account the other day on her PC and she was in good standing. She submitted a ticket and was told to submit an appeal and she did but hasnt received a confirmation email of the request yet which is weird since she receives one immediately after her prior submissions.

She’s tried making a back up account because she is a small streamer and has a discord community that she uses to communicate to her community, but she verifies her email and it’s immediately disabled and she receives the same email stating there has been a violation (she used two different emails to try).

Can anyone shed some light or help with this?

According to my research of the topic (because of my own problem you see above), it seems like she was “IP Banned” meaning that sharing the same connection to the internet results in a ban. If not that, maybe she was banned via phone if she inputted that instead.

Typically if a person went from good standing to instant suspension it means that she (not likely) or a server she was in charge of broke TOS- likely of the really bad kind.

Sorry i know you probably wanted an expert to answer this im just quite stressed myself and wanted to give a quick answer without my own concerns being flooded up without an answer at all

My brother got scammed like this in may. They never responded to his ticket. Discord states on multiple different stages in this process that they arent resposible for this kind of attack. You willingly gave away the account (from their perspective)
