I feel ashamed I was tricked but they'd ask you to talk to a 'staff member' who'd then make you change your email to something to supposedly scan the account (my college support actually had me do this in the past to regain some old files so it just seemed normal for me). I thought it was a scam at first but to gain trust they send actual employee Linkin stuff and creditials and sometimes info not many know is actually available to the public which then causes panic. Then if they gain the account, they try to hold it hostage for money.

Same here. It caused me to go into a panic. Wasn't awake enough at the time with little sleep the night before. So I just went along with everything. I'm on my 15th ticket now with support but they keep auto respondingor auto closing. Yet this is the only other time I've been told the case was escalated. If you have any e-wallet attached to your account, I suggest taking it off for safety reasons and informing others that your friend's account is hacked/compromised for now.

Support can take a few days to a few months to respond back properly to give an account back. If they even do get it back to the original owner.

1. Even though the muted role doesn't have permissions, it's not a "permissions off" toggle, it's a "does this role grant that permission". Basically, if it's already given with another role (higher or lower) the permission still applies. To mute, you'd either need to remove all other roles (moderation bots do this automatically) or use Discord's native timeout feature.

2. Channel permissions overrule server permissions. So if you removed a permission for a role that has that permission enabled, it will disable that permission for for the channel (also a way to mute)

Recently, a guy who I used play RL with shot me a DM and said there was an account with a smiliar name to mine that was doing sketchy stuff so when he went to go report it, he accidentally reported me. He said he was super sorry that he did and if I get banned hes sorry. I told him not to worry cause they do an examination and what not and I'll be fine. Well today I got another message from him saying that he got an email back from their ticket support and they were gonna shut down my account in the next 24 hours because apparently my account have been flagged before for "illegal" activities. Which is crazy because I dont go around scamming people on here nor do I engage in illegal activities on here. There was a discord tag for the support team and I tried entering it and it just kept saying "no user" I now have no clue what to do
