Considering how much scamming goes on in discord, you'd think there'd be more centrality and intelligence in the mechanisms for reporting and monitoring suspicious behavior. I guess it's not a big money maker though

There's no spam list, for example. There's nothing to correlate user names with repeat offender IP addrs or any public service like that. Everyone has to reverse engineer and figure things out themselves from scratch over and over even if the attacker is the same across multiple events

Another update on the two scammers. I had both of them reported for their messages. Then spam reported their accounts. Again to anyone who doesn’t know. I had my account scammed with a fear for my life and my personal information being shared. I did what I was told and reported the two scammers one was a friend I haven’t talked to in three years. Then the other was the guy that looked lick discord support but was not. I reported them both. Showed screenshots of their attempt on #peer-help . And now I’m waiting for a response possibly if I’m okay now.

Hey i have an issue with my client. Came here to ask the exact same thing. After browsing reddit and other forums I believe the issue has to do with a Windows 11 setting called Efficiency Mode on task manager processes. This feature isn't accessible to Win 10 users and I suspect that this latest discord update was the one that had the change. Anyways changing that setting is the only solution I've seen thus far - I'm a Win 10 user so I'm kind of screwed til it gets fixed
