Helloo, so im not sure where to ask about this but someone in a server im in won a giveaway, not a scam giveaway, a real one. They won 1 month of £10 discord nitro but they already had the £3 nitro on their account. They cancalled their subecription for the nitro they had activated and they answered all the question and all, they claimed the nitro that they won and they went to go test out the nitro but it seems theyre stuck with the £3 nitro they originally had but it says theyve claimed the £10 nitro. • The role permissions (from the server settings) are the base, channel overrides are meant to adjust them on a per channel basis (f.e, only allowing attachments in a media channel).
• A channel override always ranks above , meaning you can not deny a permission that is already being granted by another role, no matter the hierarchy.

For simplicity sake, let's say the the server-wide permissions are the @ everyone role.

• In your server settings, make sure you give this role all the permissions you want your members to have by default. These permissions apply server-wide automatically, and you do not need to do anything else in the channel or category settings, unless you want to deny a specific permission you gave them in a channel, or vice versa, want to give them a permission they don't have by default.
• Channel permissions are also known as ''overrides'', they override your existing server-wide permissions in that channel. This is used for things like announcement channels, to deny permissions like ''Send Messages'' for members in channels that should be read-only. You shouldn't use them unless you are, in fact, changing settings.
• Category permissions are the same as channel overrides, this is just a method to update permissions in channels in bulk, rather than 1 by 1.
• Roles don't need to be added to channel settings (aka overrides), if you do not intend to make changes to their permissions there.
• The hierarchy is Channel Overrides > Server-wide. Unless no changes are made in channel, members always have their server-wide permissions.
• When you edit overrides, the is neutral, this means you are not changing anything and that it stays the same as the server-wide setting for that permission
• takes priority over . When doing overrides, you cannot DENY a permission that is already being GRANTED by another override, regardless of where the role is located in your role hierarchy. Both the tick and cross take priority over your server-wide permissions however.
• example: If you have an art channel, where only @Artist can Send Messages, the muted role which denies Send Messages will not work, as it is overruled by the Artist role

If the account has been inactive for long enough you can maybe try reaching out to https://dis.gd/contact and request a server ownership transfer. Though I can’t remember if only admins can request that or if mods can too

IF it is pinging everyone or here, you will need to suppress that.
IF it is pinging a role that you've been assigned by any means,

you will need to lose the role or suppress all role @mentions

Alternatively, you can advise server owner/staff it's annoying how often you're pinged by the bot and see if they can implement a fix that won't cause you to supress your notifications to the server.

I’ve mentioned it in the ticket as a just in case sort of deal, since discord doesn’t like charge backs and I’ve called bank about it and they did an investigation about saying taken but never processed so can’t charge back unless I call them again

If the account is already lost, a chargeback disabling the account won't change much

Might also prevent the scammer from doing anything with it

I’ve already blocked a gotten a new card, at this point Ill add everything I can for this one and the last one I do and then I’ll probably call bank again to do an investigation again

I know it seems pointless atm to just go through with sending another ticket once this one eventually closes but I want to at least try and struggle to get it back

Once this one closes out, I’ll send one more and then I’ll call the bank for the charge back and see how it goes, thanks for the help but it’s just a heavy mental burden
