Well, multiple accounts were reported by a banned member on the server. Around 6 were reported and got banned, and my friend was one of them. He’s sent it but hasn’t received a response in over 10 days, while a different person received one after 1 day. This system is so messed up and broken.

• When I try to watch one of my friends screenshare, my entire Discord app locks up and freezes.

The scam's flow works like this. Prior to contacting you, your friend fell for the same scam. The account talking to you ATM isn't being controlled by your friend, but by a scammer. Scammer reaches out to multiple people on the account, claims to have 'massively reported' or 'accidentally reported' your account.

Fake friend sends manufactured evidence - screenshots of emails, sometimes conversations with a supposed "Discord Moderator" (No such rank exists by the way). Tells you that you need to talk to them.

The "Discord Moderator" is another user account with a photo stolen from LinkedIn. They might even send you a link to their LinkedIn page, they might send you a resume, or an image of a "certificate", to try to convince you they're staff. they'll talk to you in code boxes to intimidate you.

That's the shittiest part, people get so stuck trying to solve things with their own account, they don't remember or even think to warn their friends.

and then the friends don't believe it. It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled.

The guy I dealt with that got scammed on my server wound up talking to someone claiming to be Kevin Hanaford. The guy thought that he needed to reach out to the ACTUAL Kevin Hanaford to get this resolved. I had to explain to them, the actual guy doesn't have any idea what's going on with your account right now, and you need to write a ticket, because official actions aren't taken without them.

Same thing, just bump up the current ticket that's open instead of creating a bunch of them or writing emails. There were layoffs which means less staff and longer replies. You should only be worried if the timing comes close to 1 month.

They'll eventually reply and help you out, just gotta wait.
