Question, I use my earbuds whenever I'm on call in discord
They work just fine but whenever I have the audio output to 'phone', whenever I try to do anything outside of discord the screen fades into black and back again over and over

But whenever I put it as the headphones output on that fixes everything, so I haven't worried about it, but out of nowhere whenever I had my earbuds in and I was in call out of nowhere the headphones output disappeared and even if I put my headphones back out and in it doesn't work, I tried resetting my phone and even installing and uninstalling but nothing worked

Is it maybe a problem with my earbuds??

The phone flashing is due to something blocking the light sensor. When you set output as phone, it behaves like a handset to save power. Make sure nothing is blocking the light sensor/ it isn't faulty.

Your earbuds not being recognised as an output device make sure your phone itself can detect the earbuds, update its firmware and lastly try using the earbuds on a desktop client. Not exactly able to pinpoint the issue here

The screen flashing is kind of normal, you can't help it if there is a small fault in your device.

For your earbuds, it might be a bit silly but are you connecting to the earbuds after you are in call?

I was in call almost all day with my boyfriend, it's what we usually do, and I had my headphones in the entire time

After I stopped sharing my screen of a game I was playing it suddenly started having this issue, I didn't mess with the earbuds or anything

I tried to fix it by unplugging my headphones, leaving call and then rejoining and the option would appear than, but it would disappear almost immediately

I can understand your frustration but not the exact fix. Can you close discord from the recent apps drawer/go into settings>apps> find and click on discord and then hit force stop.
Then disconnect and reconnect your earphones and then start discord

It's a great experience and a YouTube video might be able to guide you through any difficulty. It's not recommended to reset it too often though. You might lose important info

Sorry could you please rephrase that? Are you sure that youre receiving no output from the earphones with other apps like YouTube/music?

Honestly I wouldn't have a clue why it would state it's coming out of your phone speaker. But I know people have said Dirac kills user experience with constant bugs and issues that some OEMs don't bother updating.

So this could simply be a device OS issue.

Disabling doesn't stop it from being a required dependency (It's an audio driver which replaced the default Android version). Similar to the can't remove Facebook off Samsung devices. It's a requirement for some reason

hmm for now if you want a quick fix and have a really good internet connection and a few bucks to spare, reset your phone after uploading all your files to a cloud storage and later after reset download it all back. Afterwards you can ask your tech uncle to do a custom OS flash on your phone and ask him to update it to the latest versions periodically. Hopefully he knows about certain hardware restrictions 😄

Make sure the special role that members get upon joining don't have access to see other channels

I know I can see them and I can @ them all based on role. But am I am able to get the list somehow? Is there a setting I am not seeing? I'm a developer with a project I'm really exited about. It involves a single closed-source script that I host. For various reasons, I want to implement the ability for users to run my script on their bot. However, this brings up some issues:

Discord bot token sharing is strictly prohibited in the TOS.

However:
Via the Discord Developer Portal, a bot owner can create a team, and add a member. That member can then see the bot token. This I think is a completely TOS-compliant way to allow my project to work. A user who want's to use my service would add me as a team member, and I would then add the token that is given to me by Discord to the script's list of clients.

Via Discord Teams, I would be considered a contributor for that user's bot, and would therefore be allowed to run scripts using that bot token, correct?

Or you don't do that. Because that will probably be the worst idea in the history of Discord.

If you want users to run scripts through your bot while being sandboxed.
Look for something that can be run through docker and act as part of a machine that has no connection to and from the gateway but to your bot through an API of such.

If you do what you described you're not only going to cause a security risk with everyone involved but you might even get removed from Discord if it's bad enough.

Does anyone know how to view DMs that aren't readily visible in your recent DM history? I have old DMs with people that were inactive for a while that I wanted to look through, but I don't remember the username of the person so I can't search for it. Is there a way of seeing all these DMs that are no longer readily available? For clarification I'm not talking about DMs that were actively closed by either person, these are DMs that essentially timed out and hid themselves without any activity from either side of the conversation.

DMs only go away if you click Close DM. I have DMs from like years ago that are dead threads.
I can still see them, so the only way you can view those DMs is to find the user in question, open a DM and it should all be there.

Your logic doesn't really make sense here. If a 6 month old DMs is old enough to be closed by itself for inactivity then surely a year old one would too?
One other probability I can think of is that those accounts may have been deleted and as such the DMs closed on their own, as f.e deleted accounts leave servers.

While I don’t know how discord specifically runs, I know that all that information is there. If I had to guess I’d say why the 5 month to 1 year gap occurs is because of some design choice of what it considers a relative time frame, in with 6 months is a milestone, but so is 1 year

Either way I’m going to be waiting for that data request I mentioned to be fulfilled, and that’ll be the solution I’m pursuing. Further discussion on whether I’ve hidden/closed DMs doesn’t really help with the problem
