We've had the ability to tryout this update for a good few months now and I don't know a single person who hasn't instantly googled how to get the old UI back but, jeez, discord really doesn't seem to listen...

The new UI looks good. It's flush, up to date and in places it's a lot smoother on devices with the CPU power to deal with the new shininess, but things have been moved and the majority of the userbase now has to re-learn years of muscle memory to use the same app we've had for years. And why? Because discord wanted to.

But the issue with this is the fact that if people can't use the app the way they want to, they just won't use it. So making the ability to customise the app any way you want against TOS (Minus the obvious like, no hacking stuff) and blocking clients that only adjust the way discord looks, will drive people off the platform regardless. Hey guys! I have a problem, specifically on a mac. When I open a video call in dms and servers both, my camera freezes after a few seconds.

Reinstalling didn't help. My phone works fine.
If I stay muted after joining the call, my camera works. The second I unmute, it freezes.
If I add a discord background, I can unmute and keep it working. If I return my background to normal, it freezes.

This started like two days ago and I haven't been able to find anything on it. Any ideas? 😅
