Hello, I am a (kinda) mod of a pretty big server.
We used to have a good team with good moderation, we used to hold events and were pretty quick in punishing stuff like sending NSFW, sending slurs etc..
However recently, the server ownership has been transferred due to the pervious owner being busy and quitting discord.
For some reason the pervious owner decided to transfer it over to someone with 0 experience in this kind of stuff rather than any of the admins that has been running the server until that point and things have very quickly gone downhill since.

The current owner has been slowly reducing the power the current admins and mods have, to the point where the only person who has the power to ban and time out people is the owner themselves.
The main problem is that, they do not mod AT ALL, and the server is becoming CHAOTIC
The only time anyone is ever punished in the server anymore is when somebody speaks out about the state the server is in and questions their ownership abilities where they are very quickly banned with no warnings.
Old members are beginning to hate the server as all their friends are being instantly banned and events are no longer being held, new members don’t like the atmosphere.

This server has been years in the making and means a lot to a lot of people with thousands of members, I’m worried about making an official complaint using discord support will the server just get banned? Can they even do anything to remove ownership from this person and put it into better hands?

It’s highly unlikely that support will do anything as discord gives servers the power to moderate as they see fit, with the only exception being things that are ToS breaking they want the moderators to act on. If they don’t and the servers gets reported for it then there’s a whole mess of things that could happen up to the server being deleted

So I moderate a server, and we enacted a rule to ban members that make jokes about being underage, alongside people that are already underage and not of age to use discord. Basically they get treated as if they were actually the age they claimed and they get banned.

I wouldn't consider you separate from your dad assuming the payment method is owned by your dad. All that matters is the payment method registered for purchase has a chargeback on it

And they disable accounts for chargebacks because that often indicates a fraudulent transaction (which is not always the case, but you need to prove it through your appeal)
