I just rewrote the rules for a server I admin, and one of the rules states that bullying, harassment etc etc is not tolerated in the server including in DMs.

Someone just pinged me to say that the server can get deleted and I get an account ban for banning people for DM stuff????? Personally I think that's a bogus claim, as I've never heard of such a thing before.

Does the headset on the bad phone have issue with other apps? Try a Google Meet or something and see if it's the same thing. Probably an incompatibility between the headset and the phone in some way.

I'm sorry to hear that, you can report a raid by clicking the dropdown menu of your server and selecting "report raid". In the future, be careful who you give administrator privileges to. You can create a templete of your server in the future so you can have a backup in case it happens again. Also look at the audit log to see who invited the bot and ban them.

The bot cannot give itself roles unless it had permission to do so. It is also worth mentioning that you should only give your bots limited permissions, don't give bots ban permission unless you expect them to ban members (e.g. moderation bots) and only give these permissions if the bot is verified and widely trusted. If you do plan on using a custom bot, make sure you have the source code of the bot and verify it isn't malicious, then compile the bot on your own.

If you want to be extra careful, don't give anyone add bot permissions, if they want to add a bot, they could ask you to add it for them.

Hey guys, I have a question… there has been an issue that happened to me recently where I was in a direct message with someone and trying to send them an image with a text caption on it, but after clicking send the chat switched to the last server channel I was in so the image was sent there instead of the direct message.

Apparently I wasn’t the only one this happened to recently. Even a normal message with nothing attached sometimes would somehow find its way to the last server channel they were in prior to the person they were direct messaging with.

I just wanna know if it’s just me? And if there’s any known report on this? Because I only saw a report about server to server chat channel switching not dm to server or server to dm switching issues…

Hello guys! I have been trying to set up the onboarding feature in my server but there's the "server guide" step which I don't see in any of the youtube tutorials that show the onboarding feature. Every time I put in all the correct information for the step and move to the final part which is activating "onboarding", it doesn't say I completed it and resets that step's progress.

I want to have the Authenticator App on 2 devices. When I enable 2FA on one device I get a secret to setup the 2FA app (here Microsoft Auhtenticator). Now I have a second device where I also want to configure Microsoft Authenticator to be able to authenticate on both devices. But when the 2FA is setup once there is no option to request the secret for the 2FA again to configure it on the second device.

You have to setup both the devices (for secret codes) at the same time when turning on 2FA on Discord. In this case, you have to remove 2FA and then when setting it up again, scan the QR from the Microsoft Authenticator on both phones at the same time

How do they work together? I know that if a new member is assigned a role then Rules Screening is bypassed. So how do self-assign roles in Onboarding work with that? Preferably, I would like a pre-onboard mandatory selection to assign a "Members" role but I think that doesn't work either.

Couple things on this:
A. They’re not getting rid of tags. That’s just a bad idea.
B. You can’t hack/hijack an account from a username. If that were the case we’d already see it.
C. I’m assuming this is from the datamine. If so, then take what you see with a grain of salt. The majority of features that datamine report don’t actually make it into the production version of Discord. Just because it exists in the client does NOT mean that it’s a guaranteed thing
D. You can already remove tags using Streamer Mode, it's not a new thing
