Timeouts completely disable access to chat in channels. You could have a custom bot that gives the member access to a custom channel while timed-out but they won't be able to type in it until their timeout expires. I recommend creating a custom timeout system using a role instead of the built in timeout feature to accomplish this.

You could give a user a "Muted" role that limits their ability to talk in almost every channel and also gives them access to a specific channel. This can be done with existing bots like Carl-bot.

This is what I was thinking, have them run a certain command to give themselves a role for a specified amount of time (this role would give them access to view the channel). Then have a bot automatically give anyone with that role timeout.

As I mentioned previously, you would need to do this instead of Discord's Built-in timeout System. Although you could theoretically timeout someone while adding them to a role to allow them to view a channel, this will only work to a extent, and is rather inefficient.

1. Timeouts prevent users from typing in a channel, if your intention is to allow the user to type in said channel. They will not be able to until their timeout is expired.
2. You can already prevent users from typing in channels by disabling role or channel specific permissions. This way, you will only need to add and remove the role instead adding both a timeout and a role.
3. Afaik no main stream bot supports this. You can use bots like Carl-bot to append "Mute" roles as a replacement to Discord's built in timeout; not in combination.

Our team will not be able to manually change the email of an account.

They cannot change it. Neither you or the support team can fix it. One solution is deleting your account or creating a new one.

Hi - I was wondering if there's an easier option for this:

• We have about 60 Minecraft servers and players get a role specific to their server so we can notify them for server specific issues and give them access to a server specific channel.
• From time to time, we have an announcement that applies to all 60 servers (but not all community members); currently we ask them to join a notify role but not everybody does.
• We're looking to create a bot that runs through all members of the server specific roles and add the notify role if needed (a lot of API calls).

Would be nice if there's a "combination" role or a role category so we could ping all those server roles at once...

Not every communication/action is visible on the submitter's side of the case. There may be activity or investigation occurring on the case you aren't aware of. But typically I think the response I've received on this sort of question is that Discord's T&S team is definitely on it and while they don't necessarily always have the bandwidth to send update responses on those cases, they're definitely doing what needs to be done.

Discord Server Bans are IP-based. Only thing that can be done about that is by unbanning all accounts on that IP or force-changing your IP.

So while your account wasn't banned itself, it cannot join that Server because your on the same IP as a banned account

Either a) you bypassed the client side limit directly, or b) the client limit was not applied because of a bug. In the former case, meh screw 'em. In the latter, saying "hey this is too long" makes for ao better UX than "wtf why does this keep getting cut off for no reason?!"

I think Locked Threads can only be spoken in (and thus, unlocked) by those with Manage Threads Permission.
But once spoken in again, it gets unlocked and thus anyone with Send Messages in Threads/Posts Permission can talk in there again

Well currently Threads just inherit permissions from their parent Channel.
and since Forum Posts are just Threads under-the-hood, they work like Threads too in inheriting Permissions from their parent Forum Channel.

Hello. So I currently have a bit of a small lack of creativity in naming and was looking for some help. I am trying to keep to a certain brand or atmosphere in my server with my role, category, and channel names and have run into a block.

I have divided my categories by different topics with text channels related to those topics. For example general text chats and meme chats for games and anime. I have assigned "Nexus" for the general chats in their respective categories. For example Game Nexus or Anime Nexus.

For my off topic general category I have assigned it District Center with General Nexus as the general chat and other chats. My loss is that I have a District Center but to adhere to the " District" atmosphere I figure my on topic categories should be named with something other than center as they are elements surrounding the center like a city or district.

Adhering to the vibe of structuring my server to mirror a lively night district I need help coming up with a naming scheme for the additional categories.

So far I have thought of tavern or pub but that is too small and nexus already applies for that type with general chats. I thought of strip like a strip of shops or other establishments but I find it to be too easy to misunderstand or lacks the proper impact though so far it is the best I have yet. It just does not seem to fit all that well. I have also though of Blvd but I am not so sure about that either.

To be honest if I was not already using district as the core I would use that but one can not have districts in a district. So what is the next level down?

Hiya, verified bot dev here. As TwilightZebby has already explained, your bot will need to be in 75+ servers to be eligible for verification. Do note that if your bot went from a small number of servers to 75+ in a very short amount of time, Discord will issue you a "suspicious growth error". Usually this is due to listing your bot on botlist sites.

Also, during the verification process, you will need to provide photo ID and answer the questions they ask; such as what your bot does, how you store data, a link to your privacy policy etc. As well as any intents your bot uses and why you need them. (Actually I believe they do the intents application separately now)

You can only ping Roles if you have permission to do so in the Server/Channel.

Plus, even if you did, it would only give that yellow message highlight if it pinged you - be it User, Role, Here, or Everyone.

That said, it is possible to mention Roles without having permission, but it won't send a ping if you don't have permission.

hey guys, can someone lend me a hand with setting up a server? I want to set up a verification system where players see a message, and respond to it with one of 5 emojis. Only one of the emojis is the correct one that will verify the player, the rest are not. My issue is that if i have all 5 emojis, the emojis will display the number of times its been selected. I want the emojis to not display the number, or just drop back to 1 as soon as its selected so players dont know which emoji is correct unless they read the rules. Is this something that a bot could do, or something else?

unlikely, Discord requires you to write a support ticket from the mail address registered with your account to be able to help. This was also the only way of getting my account back when it was hacked a year ago. however I would give it a try, not sure how the departments at Discord work, but the people taking these kinda cases have given me better support then in other cases 😅
I think you might rather wanna contact Gmail to get the gmail account back

I have an issue where randomly in a server I somehow can't use bot commands and have to rejoin (while having permissions to use Bot commands) I only have the option for built in commands

As you can see there are bots in the server that use commands, yet I only have the option for built in (same issue on PC and Mobile)

Disable Legacy Chat in User Settings > Accessibility

(Which is a setting on Desktop/Web Discord, not Mobile)

If that's already disabled, then maybe that Server hasn't granted you the Permissions to use custom Bot's Application (Slash) commands
