#Cannot get my first layer flat

I’ve tried higher temp, higher flow, higher bed temp, leveling the bed (Manual, Screw Tilt, and auto bed level), adaptive mesh, washing the build plate with soap and water, alcohol.

It’s like the middle is fine, but right side is just too low, despite my mesh being decent.

Printer is an Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus

AI Help

It sounds like you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps to address the leveling issue on your Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus. Since you've tried various methods and still facing the problem, it might be beneficial to check if there are any mechanical issues causing the uneven printing, such as a loose belt or maybe an issue with the nozzle or bed leveling sensor. You could also try upgrading the firmware of the printer if there's an update available, as sometimes this can help resolve such issues. If the problems persist, reaching out to Elegoo's customer support might be the next best step for professional assistance.

Using Orcaslicer. Tried multiple layer heights for first layer. Minimal change.

as well might as well double check your loading the mesh in slicer start gcode or start print macro if its calling one

No start print macro, but I’m calling the mesh manually.

Here is my machine start G-Code:

well do you have a bed mesh named 11?

bitter torrent
#

Yes. It’s the only one.

sand coral
#

humm, double checked the z screws turn on the first layer?

bitter torrent
#

Yeah. It moves so as far as I can tell it’s adjusting at least something.

sand coral
#

mesh made with bed hot?

#

as well any wiggle in hoten or bed?

bitter torrent
#

Yep. And let it sit for 30 minutes.

#

No wiggle on the bed or the hot end that I can tell. Wheels are all tight but not too tight.

sand coral
#

not sure it matters, or if klipper is sart enough to ignore them, but the 11 shouldnt be in quotes

bitter torrent
#

I can certainly try. It’s kind of a pain that it never really tells you a mesh loaded when it’s printing.

#

Although I’ve also done adaptive bed mesh and that does the same thing.

sand coral
#

why i like BED_MESH_CALIBRATE over load

bitter torrent
#

Does that run a full bed mesh?

sand coral
#

you can add adaptive=1, but yeah probes new every print

#

im still running old KAMP so i forget about that section

bitter torrent
#

It’s just crazy that it started doing this in the last month. I’ve had this thing for 2 years with no issues.

#

It does seem to load the mesh as far as I can tell.

#

Adaptive=1 doesn’t seem to work. It just did a full bed calibrate instead. But it’s doing it.

#

It’s in the Gcode too. Weird.

sand coral
#

the PRINT_START macro calling anything? could be thats trying to load another mesh

bitter torrent
#

I don’t think I have a PRINT_START macro I’m aware of.

sand coral
#

you can see it in the first one, might be in another file, but thats a common macro name

#

klipper log?

bitter torrent
#

I guess this is in my
Print.cfg

#

[gcode_macro PRINT_START]
gcode:
SAVE_VARIABLE VARIABLE=was_interrupted VALUE=True
G92 E0
G90
SET_INPUT_SHAPER SHAPER_TYPE=ei
CLEAR_PAUSE
M117 Printing

sand coral
#

thats kinda a nothing macro

bitter torrent
#

I don’t think I’m calling it anywhere though.

#

Oh the printer is calling it..:weird.

sand coral
#

klipper can remap anything to do anything, i have no clue what elego did to it

bitter torrent
#

Yeah. I’m doing another test right now. With a full bed mesh using calibrate.

#

See how that looks.

#

A bit better, but that left side is still rougher that the rest.
