Hi there,

Having a great time printing little extras/tools/addons for my new Bambu A1 and keen to start printing wargaming accessories, organisers, and terrain. Are there any general settings that should be my go-tos for most prints to minimise print lines?

Any recommended written guides or videos that are particularly good at how to navigate and make use of the Bambu Lab settings would be appreciated also, I've added a bunch to my Watch Later but having some that come recommended from more experienced printers would be great

It's great to hear that you're enjoying 3D printing with your Bambu A1! To minimize print lines in your prints, here are some general settings you can start with:

  1. Layer height: Using a smaller layer height such as 0.1mm or 0.2mm can help reduce the visibility of print lines.
  2. Print speed: Slower print speeds can improve print quality, so starting with a speed of around 40-50mm/s might help.
  3. Wall thickness: Increasing the number of walls in your print can also help hide print lines, so try using 3 or more walls.

As for resources on navigating and optimizing settings for the Bambu Lab slicer, I recommend checking out their official website or forum for any specific guides or tutorials. Additionally, searching for user experiences and tips on forums like Reddit's r/3Dprinting or other community forums can provide valuable insights.

If you have any specific questions about troubleshooting or optimizing settings for your Bambu A1, feel free to ask!

Using filaments like Matte PLA can also help to hide layer lines

Most filaments to my knowledge have Matte variants

as well as adaptive layerheights and a light fuzzy skin

Oh I also meant to ask, what would be the best sites to browse for good quality wargaming as well as general prints, that are geared towards fdm? Sometimes in my browsing I've found cool looking stuff but then it says intended for resin etc. I kind of assume I won't be printing especially small miniatures

Model Repos:

(Cults3d deleted due to irregularities paying out to creators. Buyer (and seller) beware!)

as well you can scale the resin ones up to FDM size, assuming they are FDM printable, sections that rely entirely on supports still sucks

Make world is good as well however I use it less due to it being geared more towards Bambu printers

and yeggi searches like half them if you want a specific model

Fdm are capable of decent quality figurines but not as much as resin

On that note, what kind of stuff do you print? I've seen some really cool stuff for around the house I've already saved

I've done stuff for around my room and desk.
I printer some hat hooks to hang my baseball caps as I collect those.
I've also printed a controller and cable holder for PC controller gaming along with a couple of custom design stuff

I can send some pictures if you're interested

and yes cable tidies and things look awesome, i have used some in the past that used adhesive strips but they were hit and miss, ive seen printable ones with screw-type vices to scale to your desk thickness

limber ibex

Yeah I mainly use command strips cause I don't feel like drilling

Here's some of the stuff I've printed
