as the title suggests, i’m having some pretty severe problems with my ender 3 v2 neo. historically, it’s had problems with clogging, leading to me
replacing the hotend (metal heatsink, extruder, red and white wire heating element and sensor) for the 3rd time. a few weeks ago, it was working just fine, then it had a really bad print where it made a bunch of spaghetti, and then it had another bad print where it clogged badly. i just bought another hotend kit and replaced it, but so far, the only results I’ve gotten so far are horrible (see image). It has a unique problem right now where on the left side of the bed, it will first print a line perfectly fine, but when it comes to printing the actual model, it’s pretty messed up. the printer doesn’t print brims, rafts, or support, and loosely prints the model onto the print bed, leading to massive layer shifts and more clogging. i tested a black pla filament, and a brown creality filament, and both yielded similar results. I’ve cycled between cura, creality 7.1, and creality 3.2, and these issues have persisted all throughout. any help/advice is so greatly appreciated, but for a quick recap, here’s everything i’ve tried:

  1. adjusted z offset
  2. adjusted white filament tube
  3. switched slicers
  4. switched filaments
  5. replaced hot-end

thank you very much for any help

It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, which is great. Since you've replaced the hotend multiple times and tried different filaments and slicers, the issue may be related to the bed leveling or belt tension. Here are a few additional steps you could try:

  1. Check the bed leveling: Make sure the bed is properly leveled. An uneven bed can cause adhesion issues and lead to poor print quality.

  2. Check belt tension: Ensure that the belts are properly tensioned. Loose belts can cause layer shifting during printing.

  3. Consider checking the X and Y-axis alignment to ensure they are parallel and perpendicular to each other.

  4. Check the nozzle for any partial clogs or debris that might be affecting the extrusion.

  5. Verify that the extruder motor and feeder are functioning correctly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to reach out to the manufacturer or a local 3D printing community for further assistance.

is your tension arm broken?

cracked

let me do some research and ill get back to you

#

mine is not cracked, but it seems like i may need to tighten/loosen it. would you know which option would be most optimal?

when you try to print, watch that arm and see if its skipping and grinding the filament away, it id does that enough it can just stop the extrusion. personally ive had this happen before. just give it a print and monitor that. maybe give the filament a little nudge while its going and see if it changes the outcomes. this part is really common fail point

if your is still plastic, upgrading to the metal one with a stronger spring is common

ty, i def will do that. mine is also metal stock

#

im still confused on why its skipping brim and support tho

thats probably simple, i think atm though you should just try printing a rectangle shape with gyroid infill. so we can see why your getting clogged.

did you calibrate the specific filament? if not, youll want to do that in orca slicer

i did calibrate it to pla at .4mm nozzle

you might just need to be alot more detailed with the next calibrations and zoffset calibration, ash the bed, make sure the nozzle and gears are clean.
did you do the flow calibrations? people say they did calibrations all the time and they actually didnt

ill look into calibration details because i likely didnt do it correctly- but im still a little lost. i never had to do any extensive research or setup for this printer before it started acting funky, and the main problem is js that it refuses to stick to the bed :( I tried using a glue stick, too
