I foolishly started a 5 hour print when I went to work and didn't babysit it on my qidi q1. When I got home, the print had failed, there was filament all over the unit, the cover was half way accross the room with the fan wires sheared off, and the bed raised to the top. Now the printer won't connect and simply gives me the error "mcu mcu unable to connect"

I can fix the fan easily, but I have no idea where else to go from here. Help is greatly appreciated. Pictures to follow, my phone is currently dead.

It sounds like there was a major issue during your 5-hour print. The error message "mcu mcu unable to connect" typically indicates a problem with the main control unit of the printer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check all the connections inside the printer to ensure nothing came loose during the failed print.
  2. Power cycle the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
  3. Try connecting the printer to a different power outlet or using a different USB cable if applicable.
  4. If you are comfortable with it, you may need to check the firmware of the printer and possibly reflash it if necessary.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be best to contact the manufacturer or seek assistance from a professional technician to diagnose and repair any potential damage to the control unit.

Feel free to provide more details or pictures once your phone is c...
