AI Help
It sounds like the extruder motor on your 3D printer may not be functioning properly. Check the wiring connections and make sure the motor is receiving the correct amount of power. If everything seems to be in order, there may be an issue with the motor itself and it may need to be replaced.

The end of the ribbon cable that goes into the motherboard as well?
checking that now
alright, dusted everything on the motherboard and reseated E0 wires which is the extruder motor if i recall correctly\
reseated extuder motor on the HOTEND as well.
testing now
well... none of that worked.
heated up the nozzle to 200, pressed the extrude button for 50mm, it made a slight click noise and i saw a small movement, but thats all...
Definitely not 50mm worth
attempting motor replacement from my motor graveyard...
aaaand still nothing.
slight click noise again but thats all
going to check inside the hotend for anything... weird, but other than that idk what to do. suggestions welcome
replaced the whole mechanism for the gear on the top and tested again...
still does the exact same thing, small click noise, like 1mm of rotation on the wheel, then stops.
at least now I cant turn the wheel by hand aferwards, now it locks
idk what to do anymore though other than go buy a whole new hotend from Elegoo..
could the nozzle be clogged?
nope
nozzle is fine and im not even feeding in filament
just tried it WITH filament just in case it was the filament runout sensor stopping it from moving.
Didn't change anything at all...
O well, got a new hotend coning Sunday from amazon hopefully
Manually pushing filament through allows it to extrude?
yes
I can rotate the gear by hand and that will feed filament through very easily
Does the gear have a screw in it?
(I'm kinda thinking by that you mean you opened up the extruder)
Screw may be hiding between the teeth (grub screw)
this guy had the exact same problem as me so I'm carefully examining my wires and connectors now...
after checking all the wires and all that, even pulling some out and inspecting them then putting them back in... still not working.
IDK
guess I just wait til the new hotend comes Sunday
Do you have a multimeter?
Maybe the wire has a break in it?
