im very new to 3D printing and I have no idea how I would go about preparing this model for printing due to its really irregular shape. The 3D printer available on my campus is the Stratasys Fortus 400.

Preparing a model with irregular shapes for printing on a Stratasys Fortus 400 can be challenging but achievable. You can start by using a software like GrabCAD Print or Insight, provided by Stratasys, to orient the model in the most suitable way for printing. Consider adding supports to ensure successful printing, and adjust the print settings such as layer height and infill density accordingly. It might also be helpful to refer to the printer's user manual for specific guidelines. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

You could either split it (slicers also have functions, to add indexing pins) or just print with a lot of support material, since that printer seems to have a separate support material, which can then be removed easier than supports of the same material
