I recently got a Ender three pro I’ve been messing around with it, but I keep getting stringy no matter what I try changing the retraction and fill speed. All of that. My dad who had it before me added a direct drive extruder, Saul z axis axis, and a board that made it more quiet, but after he added those, he stopped touching it so nothing’s changed and nothing adjusted. I also got a filament dryer and dried the filament. I need help.

It sounds like you have already tried adjusting retraction and print speeds, which are good troubleshooting steps for stringing. Since you have a direct drive extruder, you may also want to double-check your printing temperature and cooling fan settings. Stringing can sometimes be caused by the filament being too hot or not cooling quickly enough after extrusion. Additionally, make sure your filament is properly loaded and that the extruder is calibrated. If the issue persists, you may want to consider checking for any clogs in the hotend or nozzle.

- How long and what temp was the filament dried at?
- what material?
retraction is a good start....heres some others to try one at a time: - temperature (lower)
- wipe after retract on.
- check bowden tube from the direct drive is in all the way.
- ask your dad what tuning he has done + if esteps were updated.
- turn on avoid crossing walls or combing.
