Hello, I was wondering if I could get some tips and feedback on this print? Some info:

  • Flashforge A5M w/ DIY enclosure
  • default 0.4mm nozzle
  • ELEGOO plain PETG from amazon

Of course! I'd be happy to help. Could you please provide more details about the specific issues you are encountering with your print or areas where you'd like feedback for improvement? This will help me give you more precise advice.

maybe uneven ambient temps bc the enclosure door is cracked open

🤔 maybe, usually that would also warp the print though...

#

Actaully you can probably check the spool and see if it spins freely all the way down to the nozzle too...

# cursive elm wdym?

So if you grab the filament above the printhead area and give it gentle tug, does it unspool easily.

#

Sometimes it gets tangled or stuck.

oh i see

#

by the way if you were asking earlier, i printed at like 250C iirc

#

this particular filament might just be total dogshit

Elegoo should be a decent brand + i've seen it print fine... 🤔

To try:

  • temp tower (and watch the printer screen to see if it actually changes) 225 - 250
  • check if you have a ptfe lined hotend or not. (White tube all the way down to the nozzle) In which case you are temp limited to 225 for safety reasons.
  • coldpull to clean out clogs.

Leave you to it 🙂

at this point i'm wondering if i either damaged the original nozzle during maintenance (there were times that i handled it roughly), or if it damaged itself at one point

alternatively it could just be a partial clog, in which case maybe i could try a cold pull like you initially suggested

Oh that cool!! yeah it could be either, but could also be cos it was crooked, but it's printing now!! Nice work!
