For upgrading your Velleman K8200 3D printer, you have several options:

  1. New Extruder or X-Axis Movement:

    • Upgrading the extruder can improve your printing quality, especially if you are experiencing issues with filament feed or clogging. Look for reputable brands that offer compatible extruders for your printer model.
    • Adding a heated bed can also greatly improve print quality and adhesion, and the upgrade to a larger build plate is a good idea for increasing your print size capability.
  2. New Board:

    • While there are various options for 3D printer controller boards, one popular and budget-friendly option is the SKR Mini E3 V2.0. It offers reliable performance and comes with many features to improve print quality and speed. However, make sure it is compatible with your printer model before purchasing.

Does the frame allow that big of a buildplate? Of course you would need to change the kinematics of it

For a board: SKR mini E3 should be fine. Extruder and hotend depends on what toolhead you want to use but any E3 V6 clone and BMG clone would be fine and cheap. Heated bed is tricky because a big bed at 24V takes ages to heat up and takes a huge powersupply. On the other hand you have AC powered beds but then you have to work with mains power and thats a whole other story.

You also need a suitable piece of Aluminium for the actual bed, especially at that sizes. Should be a cast and machined Alu plate
