Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of rebuilding a custom 3D printer, and I need help tracking down the design files for the X-axis. The original parts are missing, and I only have a photo and a video of how it used to be.

Here are the key features of the X-axis:

It's an IDEX (Independent Dual Extruder) system with two separate carriages.

It uses two motors for X-axis movement, one on the left and one on the right.

The main rail is a single 2020 V-Slot aluminum extrusion, not smooth rods.

The overall printer frame seems to be based on a Wilson II or a similar Prusa i3 design.

I'm specifically looking for the STL files for the two X-motor mounts and the two X-carriages that hold the direct-drive extruders.

I've searched on Thingiverse and Printables for terms like "IDEX V-Slot conversion" and "Wilson II IDEX mod" but haven't found this exact setup yet.

Does anyone recognize this specific design or know of a similar project? Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you have a unique setup for your 3D printer's X-axis, with the IDEX system and the 2020 V-Slot aluminum extrusion. Since you haven't had any luck finding the exact design files, you may want to consider reaching out directly to the 3D printing community through forums, subreddits like r/3Dprinting or r/3Dprintmything, or even contacting the original designer if possible to see if they can provide or guide you to the specific files you need. Good luck with your rebuild, and I hope you can find the necessary files for your X-axis components!
